Do I detect a certain tone there?

I'm not saying "I want to pay a lot of money for a pair of jeans that I know are going to fall apart and will need to be repaired." All I'm saying is, I don't like polyblend stitching on a pair of premium Japanese denim because I think it looks bad and artificial after the jeans are worn in, and while I do realize that my perceived aesthetic value in all cotton stitching has a technical downside in that it tends to break sooner than polyblend, I still think it's worth the payoff as I don't mind repairing broken stitches, I even enjoy doing it and feel that my jeans are more unique because of it.

Yes it is 100% cotton which is nice I guess.

Mine is not the 6x6 but the 7x6 (not as thick a warp.) And also it is a one wash model.
The quality is real nice except for the stitching on one front pocket. Cant say much about stretching since they've only got 1 days wear in them.
I would have loved the one youre getting. :)
There wasnt any on rakuten. :(
Mine wont shrink after wash since they are already washed but I guess the raw selvage one will shrink a bit probably more than nudies even though sanforized. (at least thats what they say).

Well, thats not true in my opinion.
    They are certainly not destroyed.
And they will still wear in nicely ;-)

Its not like fabfour is a total novice in the jeans making now, is he?

Kiya is fairly opinionated it seems, obviously the wash does not "destroy" the denim. The quality is still there, but the fading potential is minimized I suppose.

I wore my 5507 yesterday (the second wear) and I just cant get used to the cut. Its not fitted at all.
    Kinda like a 40s-50s 501?

    Feels very funny to me.

he's prolly expecting a similar 5010 fit, but 5507 is close to a '47 [i think]__ so, not gonna happen.

    2nded.

why don't you join the LVC comp? there's still two weeks to go.

most of us are running other comps and projects too, so don't let the denime comp hold you back ;-)

^no thanks. that's a really cool contest (different cuts, details, denim)
but I don't think I can compete in 2 contests at the same time!

over the course of two years?

haha, now i'm starting to sound like dr. house. i should know that not everyone can manage 20 different comps simultaneously like he does

it is a pretty good price on the LVC tho, altho that may be an australian perspective- my comp1947 cost well under half what it would here

    there is none

just free ship, but for an australian- who gets the VAT deduction too- that adds up to a bargain, especially with our currency right now. it may not be so much cheaper for you tho, sorry

i've seen 47s on sale here for around $450 in sydney, but mine cost me just under $170 from cultizm. i keep forgetting you guys have to pay the tax etc...

    anyhow ontopic:

    - WH 1001xx (with the horse patch)
    - Nylon (yeah right, like that'll ever happen)
    - 45rpm Jomon (if I ever win the lottery)
    - Evis no.0 (or no.1 with pink selfedge) with handpainted gulls

if i was in need of a pair of jeans i´d get a pair of denime 20th or maybe pherrows or momo´s, cause i still think these two brands shold get more attention.
