And they're not being made anymore. Whatever's available now is the last of it. Or so I've heard.
that would put them back on my list, but still out of my budget tho :-x
tnx Naoto. i came across a well-worn photo of Zipang TP-2 natural indigo which, in my understanding, is their top of the line [limited production], so i googled it__ very interesting__ well a lot of denim produced in Kojima + Okayama prefecture seem to be pretty interesting, anyways.
would've been 1st choice, but i think they are a full cut repro [high waisted] __ Cisco , on the other hand, is closer to a '66 (?).
please post some pics of your ooes soon Tiro!
this thread is gettin' interesting... thanks
I want these http://www.cultizm.com/product_info...cute-s-reg--1870-THE-OLDEST-OLDEST-RIGID.html
my list gets longer every day, but i'm trying to narrow it down to one of the following for when i hit rakuten for the first time...
studio d'artisan sd-103
flathead 3001 or f380 (or maybe even 1001, altho 16oz may be too much for the australian summer)
a few people have mentioned the 101b, there are still quite a few of those floating around at very cheap prices- try oipolloi, but i doubt there's a big range in sizes left out there...
edit- sorry, missed that made in japan- these are probably the polish edition. i have the polish 101z and it's still quite nice tho, surprisingly good for what i paid (<$100)
Flathead also has the 5001, same -001 cut, 14oz denim, button fly. Those would probably be somewhat more serviceable in the summer.
^ thanks, i'll check those out
We're looking for the same pair :-D . Got a Mail from volls.de yesterday, they sell studio d'artisan soon.
The Zipang and TH are vintage cut and Cisco are more like 66 type (according to their website).
I'm more interested in No4.denim which is greener shades, but to each his own, No.2 is also nice.;-)
i'll be going straight to the source, getting it through rakuten seems to be much cheaper and easier than through a european distributor, who always seem to sell out as soon as the stock arrives. check the link, and the mangled english  it might be easier for you to set the translator to german, i'm sure there's an option there somewhere.
just an example, the australian dollar is doing alright against the yen right now, it's getting hard for me to resist the temptation to buy straight away. i still haven't decided if it will these or not, i have a few weeks yet to make up my mind...
Thanks to looking at rakuten, I now see that SDA makes a loose straight cut (D0-2) so it looks like I've got something else to add to my list...
i clicked the Cisco no.4 icon on their website and it turned out to be a buckle-back similar to Shirasu [Egg Cisco came out the same]. so, i assumed no.4 is a buckle-back '66? which ain't bad really__ but, they are 14oz raw, right? can you clear that up, Naoto?
also, when you say "greener shades" does it mean a greencast effect [ei, as it is with greycast] ? hmmm, cuz that would be interesting, indeed. I know Zipang is about 400 clams, what's the price point on no.2 & 4?
one of the perils of looking at rakuten...
WH 660 and KMW rocker and evisu 2000 no 1 plain pockets. That's all for this year.
since i've only just stumbled onto the denime comp, and ever since can't get it out of my head (even tho i don't think i'll be participating, unfortuantely :-(), i should probably add the 66xx to the top of my wish list...
Good point - I've also found that they were cinch-backed - that's not an original feature of 66 type, but I like it, too.
I think they're raw (but check about it before you buy) and the price should be cheaper than the Zipang.
Atelier LaDurance Prescott Selvedge
Those are all on my list too, except I would want black gulls on my no. 1
Black gulls are cool.
Separate names with a comma.
