So I'm going to Tokyo in about month and a half, and I'm hoping to get some authentic japanese denim since I'm there. I found the indigofan's denim maps, but since I can't read japanese, can someone explain wether the red, blue and green arrows and the shopping bag-icons have different meanings (ie. does one mean retail and other factory)?

I'll be staying there for two weeks with the ms. and might also travel to see other cities in the main island also. Do you have any other tips for a denim enthusiastic Tokyo first timer? I'm so excited to finally go there!

When are you going? I'll be there in the last week of March. :)

Don't forget the Nudie Jeans store in Shibuya. Momotaro also has a couple of stores in Tokyo.

    Have fun!

Damn, this thread was inactive for so long, I missed your post, I just came back and I too was there at the end of march. I saw a LOT of really nice quality denim there, but ended up buying only one pair of Two Moon-jeans.

Sounds like you had a good trip. I was gonna visit Momotaro, but I traveled with my whole family which has no denim interest so we went skiing instead. The only denim shopping I did was buy a Betty Smith mobile phone case from the food cart lady on the bullet train. :) Next time I'm going back it will be more denim factory tours for sure.
