Well actually the D300 is a DX body as well and just a second away from the FX bodies!
So i don't think that i'll hve any problems...the D300S is a FX body and only a tiny bit better as the D300, which i can get for ~830$ used (located in germany), but in a great condition and with ~ 11.000 releases! Another D300 (located in the USA) with ~20.000 releases, also in great condition. + extra battery would cost me ~700$ ...Now i'm thinking of selling the D5000 incl.kitlens, batterygrip and remote-release to get one of the D300's...
    What ya think?

Great stuff Ian! Just wondering do you have any methods to achieve those hues? I've been trying to get my photos to have that kind of white layer to them (or whatever color it is..).

thanks laxlife! well other than adjusting the curves, i try to only touch the reds and blues and only gently changing the greens. All of those above have one sepia tone layer. and oh yea i bump up the 'offset' in the exposure layer. Hope that helps!

Yup! Honestly every other shot was crap though becuase a blue rubber thing was sticking up and I didn't want to stand up the whole time so when I got the chance I stood up. Also most of the shots were on the end cap of the ice so I was able to get some nice ones without any distortion.

Cool. Lax is becoming more and more the magician. I think the day will come when I can say about a famous photographer, I knew him when...

I absolutely love #1. #3 would have been much better if I think you were further away and the windmill wasn't so close to you. The thing in the middle though is really distracting - that I would recommend cloning out in photoshop.

Yeah me too...and tbh i only included #2 to show that i´m still a beginner when it comes to photography...if i would have posted just #1 and #3 the view could have been another one.

    j/k mate

"the thing in the middle" is a hang-glider for the guys that didn´t now. and tbh i think that this is the actual thing that makes that pic so good. sky, gras, a windmill and somebody hang-gliding all on his own...i like! ;-)
thanks a lot for your critisicm though J. that´s always great to get a bit feedback!

Ian- the lens is sweet! If my 85 wasn't so long I would say that the 85 would never leave my T3i but it's like I said too long so the 35 is pretty much glued onto it :)

Mom came back from Ireland tonight :( haha but anyways she took this shot (I edited it), I thought this was one of the best shots out of her 500 other shots she took.
