As requested by cameland, I think a photography thread would be a nice addition to the site. All skills and camera types welcome! Display your scenic, funny, dramatic, or otherwise interesting photography here!

[Edit by admin]: Any posts with photos linked to a deactivated external account (such as photobucket) will be deleted.[end edit]

I figure I'll kick it off.

My playing around with the macro. ;-)

As you can see, I am not a professional at all. So I hope to see this thread getting some hearty use.

*edit* So um...this was definitely supposed to be in the "anything category". So if you could move it there, that would be awesome. ;-) *edit*

I don't use my camera to take these photos, I use my friends. We swap and share who takes photos for the day usually, so I can't take credit for all of them. The panorama of melbourne was shot and stitched by my friend.

Note: I AM NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER, I just point and shoot, but with a dSLR.

This is from my Bday party back in June, the light was real bad that night, kinda gave everyone a weird skin tone. Luckily we were shooting raw and could fix it up in processing.

Lastly, heres a pic when we were bored and in the dark at some park, we just worked out that day that my friends flash doesn't have to be attached to the camera to actually work, so we played around with it and I put it together in PS for a post on my blog.

I don't have much in the way of really cool pics, but I think this one is nice. It's the view from the top of the Masonic Shrine in Old Town Alexandria.

I love photography... I'm glad there are so many others that share this passion as well:

The LAST picture might not be work safe, so mods feel free to edit/delete if you see necessary (it's of a gal-friend modeling in lingerie).

    1) I have a strong passion for automobiles and this is a shot of a friend's car (it's a beast):

    2) A rolling shot of the same car:

    3) This shot got me scouted out by SubieSport Magazine for a feature on this car:

    4) Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada's Skyline (I shouldn't have chopped off the statue's hand but that was unavoidable...):

    5) The 2010 Winter Olympics are coming to my city and this is the logo that represents those games:

    6) Everyone has to have a white background shot of an inanimate object... here's mine... camera gear! :p

    7) Shot at a local botanical garden. Sunflowers are so nice, aren't they?

    8) A friend lending a helping hand for when I started shooting model-style shots with studio lighting (strobes):

A good thread! I'd hate to see it die, so let's keep posting!

Oh yah. For those who can't view EXIF, all my shots were with a Nikon D70s, mainly with the 18-70mm f/3.5~4.5, which works wonders.

nice shots there Nurdie, spoon engine in that honda huh?

this thread inspired me to get a dslr, question is, will it be Nikon or Canon...

anyway, some of my and my friends 'handywork'...
on holiday this summer (prague), there are also some more from previous holidays, will maybe post those later on, anyhow, we like shooting pics of unsuspecting females...
and with doing so, I came to the conclusion that a good zoom is everything ;-)

last one, me with the Nikon, we were trying to get a decent shot at her for about half an hour, she was like 3m away from us, our waitress, it had to be done very quick, our girlfriends were blocking the view and it almost worked without being totally obvious and then... the flash went off...

Tiro the Nikon just came out with a nice prosumer D40. But I would suggest the Olympus E-500. Around the same price but more bang for your buck. Trying to get that one right now. I rarely have a chance to haul my larger camera stuff unfortunately. I'm in the process of getting an old Nikon 8008 too.

Oh and great candid shots of the ladies, T!
