^^^ Haha yeh there was wearable sizes (28, 29, 30 ...) It is actually quite good considering that AJDDO and some dry ones were on half price :)
^^ I talked to the staff there and they said some time ago they did stocked japanese brands like momotaro, yokufuten etc. but no one bought it so they stopped.

Mmm? I don't remember them stocking Momo or Yofukuten...
    Yofukuten, really?

I've only ever seen Fullcount jeans in any significant stock in Melbourne? And those were going for $50 in the end.

Anyway, I know That Store folks read this forum, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I reckon before anyone try to introduce more Japanese stuff, they really have to get a denim culture going in Sydney and Melbourne (and train up the staff in terms of denim knowledge)...you can't really rely on part-time uni students to convince someone that a 14.25 oz unsanforised denim from Nihon Menpu is worth the extra $200 over some Chinese selvedge. You need hoarders like me coming in to fix a habit.

Haha yeh and TBH I was surprised too. Even asked him "Yofukuten?" and he said "Yup". So I can't argue with him...
Sad thing though seeing premium jeans brand go on sale.

^ Yeah, it is, seeing a literal pile of Fullcount jeans for $50...and nobody was buying them.
A sad reflection of the denim-nerding hobby in Australia.

The only pair of "premium" denim I've seen in the past month (aside from my bro's) was a pair of Enishi Yoshi at a cafe - but even then, it seemed like the owner had washed it every 2 or 3 days...so uniformly washed out, looked like a pair of Big W jeans.

Crap, If I knew they were clearing those fullcounts for $50 i would gone down and picked up a pair, I remember when they first got them over a year ago, they were more like $500 and my thinking was; well thats nice to see, but I'd still buy em online.

The only other nice stuff i remember seeing at That Store is some ALD, maybe warehouse?? PPRS (overpriced as usual) and some good Edwin, but also mostly pre-wash. Seems to be a [skinny-jeans/oversized tops]-centric image they are pushing at the moment...

haha, it's amazing the stories and rumours that start. I personally would love to see Yofukuten in THAT Store. Why the staff member said yes i have no idea. THAT Store has never stocked Yofukuten or Momotaro.

Mike is pretty much onto it at the moment. Australia really needs to develop the correct mentalitly towards Japanese jeans before higher quality goods can be brought over here. In the mean time, it's the real denim nerds who miss out. THAT Store has started to stock what some would consider "entry level" brands to introduce the raw denim mentality to the consumers. Brands such as Naked and Famous is already in stores with another brand on it's way.

However, on the brighter side Mike, i have altered a huge amount of Japanese jeans over the past months, and i can tell you there are quite a lot of people with Japanese brands (here in Sydney anyway). The majority of brands have been Samurai, The Flat Head, Iron Heart, Pure Blue Japan and Momotaro. I know one thing for sure, it's starting to grow, it's just a matter of getting those people off their computers from Superfuture and seeing them outside!!

^ Thanks for the clarification denimotaku :D
I really look forward to the day when I can check out some of the Japanese stuff at my local That Store (I live 5 minutes walk away from one of them in Melbourne!)

At least now I feel better knowing that I haven't missed out on THAT store selling Japanese denim brands. I agree with denimotaku on the "entry level" brands but what confuses me is that why did THAT store stops stocking nudies? As far as I know, more people are starting to wear them and they act like an entry point to the denim world to more and more people (well at least to me it did). Although I'm still a rookie, I certainly am getting more and more interested in raw denim now and not 1 day passes by without me looking at this forum and for that I thank NJC. However I see people that buy cheap pair of jeans but wear them as if they are like raw denim (by not washing and wearing them hard everyday) and sometimes I thought to myself if that guy wore raw denim, he wouldve got a nice pair of jeans. So sometimes its just a matter of introducing them the concept of raw denim before they start becoming denim fans.

I cant sit and watch this anymore, too much waffle and I need to clear it up. We are the only store authorised to deal Flat Head, Momotaro, Samurai, Buzz and Sugar Cane In Australia. So whoever is miss leading seems to be dreaming. I have a great relationship with all our suppliers and they consult me before any new dealer will be taken on in Australia. It's hasn't been an easy ride bringing these brands into Australia let alone Adelaide. Believe it or not but the response here has been far better than we predicted and we will take on another two Japanese denim brands and another leather supplier. Again we did wholesale Fullcount to TS, we sold through all products as we had them priced were they needed to be, selling a product as good as Fullcount for $50 should be a crime.
We also will be opening a Sydney store towards the end of this year and it will be interesting to see if we get the support that we have had here in Adelaide. We are bringing another Union 43200 with too.

What's the name of your store? Maybe I'll get some friends over there to get me some momos.

No TFH sweats in this delivery, only four fits in denim. BR delivery has L-2's, B-15 Mod's, M-43 Service boots, CPO shirts and Watch caps. The new Momotaro delivery should be here at the end of the week. Cheers.
