sorry, it's kind of a shitty translation, but you get the picture (just the last page) Recently, the amount of strange inquiries from abroad have risen. "Hey! I'm interested in your 5010XX 6x6! I've heard that the fades are best!" Huh? When we were thinking about the fades around the chain stitch and the like, we were introduced to the pictures below. These jeans are Cameland's 5010XX 6x6 RAW(non-wash) SJC edition. He is from Melbourne Australia. Currently, there are fans of Skull Jeans who are participating in a fading contest around the world, and he is one of the originators (founders?). People from outside of Japan are a little different from those in Japan because they usually don't cuff their Jeans. Instead, most of the people let their jeans "stack" or roll up. Cameland also wears his without cuffing and lets them stack. The contest started by wearing the 5010xx 6x6 starting September of last year, and even though they are wearing them hard, the first wash could come at 9 months... While there are a lot of meanings(?) and circumstances, some finally decide to wash. The result? They get another unusual (to us) honeycombed shaped contrasts behind the knee, like the pictures. They also get it around the hem.
hahah awesome thanks man! Don't you think its weird that they don't see stacking and honeycomb fades to be normal?
it does seem like full cuts and cuffing/rolling is the style in japan amongst denimheads. i assume for the sake of vintage?
most japanese go for real like vintage fades so they wash often, and I don't think they're really into sharp contrasts like we are
Repairs Repairs Repairs So i kinda ripped my whole left backpocket. Or the stitching came loose or whatever. Last week i repaired my right backpocket and now this. Keeps you busy eh
This post is not contributive to the discussion, but god do I love Skulls Jeans!! I like Nudie and all, but god! How can you even compete with all your guys' amazing results?! And such a great fit.
I'm thinking of making the other pocket the same, but i lost the tread that shinichi had sent me. Damn. I need to get me some tread. I checked if another tab on the other pocket wood look good. But it looked lame. So i will just stitch it up normally.
just realized how close we are to the end of the contest... anyone else getting excited? eh? i hope we get a ton of good pictures, especially from the slackers that haven't updated in forever (or at all!)
I am! Anyways, the repair job is awesome, i think the X you made is really cool. One side is good enough, no need to do it to the other side. It makes it less unqiue.
i was wondering if those were your skulls. the boots go GREAT with them. i wish i wasn't such a sneaker... head? sneakerhead? i guess. i wish i wore something other than sneakers. there that's better.
ive just noticed my crotch stitches came loose. My first crotch repair guys. I asked my mom if she could repair my jeans. And i ment repairing the loose stitch om the backpocket. Instead she repaired my ripped cuffs. I just found out this morning. But she did a great job.
let's see em! i'm probably just going to wait for the final few days to wash mine next. they kinda need it now, but another 3 weeks won't hurt.
