RED TEXT - UPDATED INFORMATION Last update - Sept 5 How we know you won't start before sept.1 Summary There was an idea to start a denim contest between mynudies members to pit their jean wearing/fading ability against eachother in hopes to find who is truly to master of their denims. Many ideas were tossed about to decide which brand would be used including the likes of SDA, Somet and Nudie but in the end it was settled to be Skull Jeans Japan. Going with the "superslim" model of the 5010xx 6x6 RAW. The contest will run for an entire year to ensure fairness and some decent wear amongst contestants and will start in either August or September. The jeans will be judged by the japanese public including employees of Skull Jeans to decide the winner who of course wins a prize from Skull. The jeans come customised for every contestant including special patches and pocket bags, all of which is covered in greater detail below. Definitive Skull Post - Ill try to keep all the vital info and updates in the first post. Official Skull Webshop - Main office in japan ships all around the world. http://www.fabfour.co.jp/netshop/babe/showcase/list_btm001.html Gallery of used Skulls http://www.fabfour.co.jp/products/used_gallery/ Skull jeans order page - Go here to order your contest jeans, the page is finally up and working. Thanks Shinichi-san! http://www.fabfour.co.jp/sjc/ Note - People outside of the USA are able to receive red tabbed jeans and those within the USA will receive the cross dagger. Hemming service Fabfour offer a free hemming service when your purchase their jeans, this option is available to you on the order page. Add shrinkage length - means that your jeans will be cut appropriately that when they are finally washed/soaked they will reach your perfect or desired length. Choosing to not add shrinkage to length means the jeans will continue to shrink beyond your desired length but may be applicable to you in such case where you plan to never wash your jeans and only dry clean. Price of denims 5010xx 6x6: Y20,790 Shipping prices Shipping prices have risen due to higher demands. This is no different to the previous shipping I listed, just edited to look a little more tidy. North America: 3,400 yen Australia: 3,400 yen New Zealand: 3,400 yen Europe: 3,800 yen Asia: 2,400 yen Difference in 6x6 and non 6x6. *New* updated sizing chart showing RAW measurements Please note that after washing the raw jeans will shrink approx 1 size. The jeans are not "true to size" they have a larger-than-tag waist due to the fact that the 5010xxs are made to sit lower than a 'traditional' waist. eg. TAGGED: 32 ACTUAL RAW: 34 ONE WASH: 33.5 The new chart, as you can see has a very large hip measurement, the measurement for the hip has changed in the new chart and the new measuring method is shown below. Please refer to it and not the one listed above. 5010xx NON wash (RAW)>>>501xx 6x6 one wash >>> 5010xx one wash This is a pair of lindas but showing a better colour difference between the one wash and non wash. Prizes 1st place winner gets a funky denim banner, haven't got much info on this yet but i will email shinichi-san about it later on. How the voting will work I think it was decided that the japanese public would decide on a winner from looking at the gallery pics of the contestants skulls and some kind of voting system will be put in place. This also hasn't been set in concrete as of yet. Special features Skull have agreed to give us custom leather patches handwriting "SJC" and also custom prints on the inside of the pocket bags which will include our serial numbers out of 17 or wateva number we have and also our usernames or real names. Shinichi-san also mentioned making a special gallery on the skull website showcasing the wear on our jeans. How it works.... Orders are taken through the skulls website through a special link http://www.fabfour.co.jp/sjc/ From here you select what size you want and also what name you would like on the inside of your pocket bags. Pockets bags: Custom Patch: Hemming Shinichi has agreed to hem all jeans with a chainstich just like new before they are shipped out to you where ever you may be in this world. It might be interesting to wear these skinny jeans baggier - sitting on lower waist or hip. Well, just a thought.
call me stupid but, isn't it quite impossible to measure the waist of your jeans like that? I tried it 3 times with my XX type, first time it was 90cm, second time 92cm and third time 89cm...
if i look at the way ploing is wearing them i need the same jeans .. i'm 1.72 @ 64 kg.s so that should be the same .. or i will get a 30 raw which will shrink till 29.. mzz
Okay that should do for now, questions can be shot at me via pm or email. From now on ill be posting updates here about the contest so i hope this is helpful to you guys! cheers!
I seemed to do it ok. What I did was slowly walk the tape measure with my hands around the waist. I did it in very small steps (couple cm at a time). I seemed to get the same #'s the few times I tried it.
yo hey what happened to me?! :x 1. Bilmaga 2. Sarlo 3. cameland 4. tion 5. Bobbyjaan 6. Rolaids 7. Sunpup 8. stylez 9. legoland 10. ninjapie 11. Epilogue 12. ihayano 13. Billysidol 14. brickgrocer ThAnK yOu!!!
Ayn is wearing normal 5010's', not the 6x6 Chapital is wearing one-wash 29 Verver is wearing raw 29 Just to add some information. A warning, people have stated that the Raw's barely shrink, but u should note that none of them have actually machine washed them, as of yet, only soaked. So if u are hoping to order them stretch-to-fit, u might run in to some difficulties later on. If u order raw and do a hot soak, u won't have to worry about machine washing them later on. Since these are contest jeans, I do think machine washing them at some moment in time will give a nicer result than soaking them all the time.

great post cameland! personally i am really freaking excited about this contest. thanks to all the people who went out of their way to make this possible!
no worries guys, updated the info a lil bit and if you guys are kinda unsure about your size please do not hesitate to give shinichi-san an email about it im sure he'll be willing to help you guys out. I might add his email into the first post a lil later, but if anyone has anything to add then feel free to post it up here or PM me.
Well, that's usually the case, unless you soak them real hot. The difference is though, the water in a washing machine will stay at the same temperature over the whole period of washing them. Though, soaking usually gets most of the shrinkage out of the way, too. The difference should be negligble. I'm not really sure about washing machine vs soaking shrinkage. I've heard for maximum shrinkage you should hot wash + tumble dry your jeans. But I was more referring to the difference in result. In a washing machine, more indigo get's brushed off the jeans compared to soaking them, right? It should be interesting to see how machine washed vs soaked only would turn after a year. You're never sure what to expect with raw denim.
yeah I definatly feel you on the indigo part, tho my Oni's and my denime XX type are both hot-soaked then put in the washing machine for about 15-20 minutes at 40C, then tumble dried and I gotta say, the difference in indigo loss before and after the washing machine was negligable... I hope my denime's do shrink a tiny bit more after their first wash tho, today I measured them like is stated on the page for measuring the contest jeans, turned out 90.5cm two times in a row, so I guess that's correct, did the same with my RR danne replica and those are also 90.5cm... so the waist is perfect on my XX type, but I wouldn't mind if they shrunk another 0.5-1 cm... like you said, you never know, I'll see when I get to washing point I guess...
