umm i dont know what the current stitching is like, but when i was researching getting my pair there was lots of talk over at sufu about the stitching being 100% cotton, true to traditional jeans. This means the stitching fades/discolours with the jeans, but also means it can break down fairly easily. I dont know what the current/more recent batch of skulls are stitched with, but i remember skull resisting changing their stitching to poly...

yes in the beginning the stitchings broke after some weeks of wear. but with the 5010 6x6 they introduced new stitching which was more durable.
    what pair do you have?

looking forward to the release of the 5000XX

    Fit

Just a quick question (I know the answer is probably flying around-sorry.) Are Skulls like sammies (fit wise.) Sammies have a levis inspire cut/fit in my opinion. I have a 710 size 32 and was planning on getting a 6x6 skull. Will they fit slimmer?

depends on the model. the 5010 is slimmer than the Samurais (expect the S003JP)

yeah I was thinking of the 5010. Do you own this pair? How's the stretch on this? Can they stretch up to 1 inch?

    Hi guys!

I was offered a Skull 5010 Size 32 and am thinking about buying it. Only problem is: i'm not too sure about the fit, as I have no way of trying them on. I'm currently breaking in some ALD Prescott Size 30, waist is now 33" if measured BiG-Style. Would those 5010 fit me? Or would they be too snug?
Which leads me to my second question: they're slim, but not skin-tight, right? I like slim jeans, but I wouldn't want a skinny cut. I've looked at the pics in this topic, but I can't really tell...

is it safe to say that the waist will stretch a good amount up to 1.5inch, if so im getting a sz 30 cuz all other measurements look like exactly what i want. Where i usually wear my jeans measures 31.5. thankss.

I read somewhere that the 5010xx waist measurements provided in Fabfour's size chart are "unbuttoned"

Can anyone please post the actual measurement of a size 32 flat and buttoned?

    Thanks a lot in advance

i would go to fabfour/selfedge/BiG and have a look at their measurements, and get a tape measure and measure yourself a few inches below your naval. I measured (from memory) about 31, and i got a tagged size 29, which has a waist measurement of about 30.5 i think. They do shrink a little with a hot soak, but they are sanforized so its nothing like you would see in Samuari/Flathead etc. Mine fit comfortably, it was just a bit of an effort to get them on the first time

This is back when i got them... I still wish they were slightly slimmer in the calves (I have chicken legs) but overall I'm happy! The stacks have settled down quite a bit, but imo they ruin the fit for me as they make the calves look much wider, however i just cuff them all the time and they're fine.

EDIT: they look much skinnier through the calves there than what they are at the moment. I'm pretty much just rambling anyway.
