I have now worn these jeans for a total of 240 full days. Equivalent to about 8 months' everyday wear. Should I wash them, or should I keep going? http://mynudies.com/index.php?media/gtdo-240-days-front-view.11940/ http://mynudies.com/index.php?media/gtdo-240-days-rear-view.11941/ http://mynudies.com/index.php?media/gtdo-240-days-side-view.11942/ http://mynudies.com/index.php?media/gtdo-8-months-wear-detail-of-combs.11937/ http://mynudies.com/index.php?media...tail-of-seat-showing-repairs-to-crutch.11938/ http://mynudies.com/index.php?media/gtdo-8-months-wear-do-these-holes-have-a-special-name.11939/ IF... 1. I get at least 10 votes in total from existing members 2. The yes or no outcome is at least 65% ... then I will abide by the decision and wash, or not wash, before I get to 9 months' wear. A 48%/52% split will not be binding.
Personal opinions please. I am aware the normal recommended time is 6 months, but this isn't a legal requirement I have tried to set the thread to allow you to post without voting if you wish.
Hello Ric, your Grim Tim type is Grim Tim Dry Ring ? I think you should wait until 12 month then you washed.
I'm now up to 290 days without a wash... and this forum returns a server error every time I try to post update pictures in the gallery.
This is a picture at 365 days. Looks to be before I washed them rather than after. Good, but wrecked. https://beta.photobucket.com/u/ricc...e8acc6/p/5f98a12c-307a-4900-a665-02897f0b37c7
Hello Ric, I waited 14 months before I washed min blue dry and 6 months before I washed my black dry. Both have aged brilliantly, but ageing better on the 14 month pair so if you can cope having them on the line every month. Then go for the as long as you can. Have a new pair of dry selvage grim tims, only 3 months down the line and they look and fit the the best. Selvage has a different feel so takes a bit longer to get used to them, but worth it, when you go for your next pair. The jeans i mentioned are now 4 years old and still going strong, although they are more holes and repairs now then anything else, but I guess thats the point.
Yes. Agree it's worth holding out. I held out for 365 days and then washed my Grim Tims. I wouldn't have wanted to go much longer as what I have left looks amazing but also looks like it won't give me much wear: more a high days and holidays pair of jeans now. I find I reach a point where if I carry out the necessary repairs I can't see the fades any more, and also find I spend an unacceptable amount of time repairing the jeans rather than actually wearing them otherwise. Interesting that you washed your black jeans sooner. Currently working on a pair of black Tight Terry nudies that are a stretch denim. Nudies recommend never washing black jeans! Would be interesting to see any fade pics of your 6 month pair if you post them up...
