They're quite similar. The toe box is not as dominant as the IR. And the sole is heaps better.

well, after few weeks of looking at different boots, I decided to hit up J.Crew to see if they had any random pars of old RWs on sale. No luck, BUT, I found a gem none-the-less:
They had an old color of the Macalister Boots, pretty much a slimmer version of Clarks DBs, but made in Italy, and they were my size, on sale for...$25:mrgreen:
They are an olive/grey suede material with a nice thin/knobby crepe sole.
    solid leather insole and heel:
they came with an extra pair of waxed-cotton laces:
low profile look and comfy fit. the perfect shoe/boot for spring:

They look very nice, and like Rafael mentioned, they are 'dressy'. But I dont feel they are 'unmatched' :)
Probably with a oxford shirt for top, could be formal, yet casual?
    Anyway, good buy, appfaff!

    Thanks for the comments guys!
Yeah, they are pretty new and "nicer" looking since the suede is still clean, but I think the fit(of the WH) works well with the silohuette of the shoes.
btw, since it's about to be the rainy season here in lower alabama, they prob won't look this for long. I say by early march, they color and the form of the shoes will be completely different.
I think they prob match my style pretty well, and as Obbi said, they should match well with an oxford or polo in the spring.

For my next major shoe purchase i want lowish profile black boots, for work/smart wear and everything in between. I really like this example of Y's/Yohji Yamamoto:

The closest i could find to what i want is these Narritive's on Asos:

Nice looking cut and leather, but pricey. 180 quid. But, it seems the discount code ASOSINSTYLE is working again for 20% off till late feb, so these would work out to £144/230usd/260aus....+ £10.50 shipping.

    Thoughts/suggestions?

I like the first boots very much, but the ones from AOS look a bit off. I think you could find a much better remake of the original boot you are looking for. I will keep my eye out for you.
Barney's has some boots that have very similar styling to what you are looking for, and in the same price range as the ones from ASOS.

I think they'd look fine with them. It depends on how tight your Finns are, and the size of your feet as well.

i think they r neither tight nor anywhere close to loose:-D im usually a 9.5 US (wat measurement do you use?) and if i get these i need to size up to 10.5 cuz claes are really narrow. just in general of finding the right shoes for finns, is the goal to let them not cuff to much or what?

    ex: is this too high?

size down 1/2 to one whole size for clarks. I wear a 9 in Walys and 9.5 in RWs and Vans.

I would try the shoes on to see see how you like them, kalpa. Don't let a group of people over the Internet control how you dress. But about those shoes, I think those would turn out fine with your Finns.

App, do you wear insoles in your RWs? I'm just wondering because you sized your RWs the same as your vans, and people seem to size down from their vans size.
