does anyone have any experience/opinion on the jins? i'm really starting to like the look of them. any word on how they break? i keep hearing that lht doesn't show much wear, which i find on one hand a little difficult to believe, since i can't see how it would make all that much difference- but on the other hand (from my own experience with lht) i find all too true in practice.

not that i care all that much about high contrast fading, but i'm curious about how it goes with the jins- this is samurai, after all. plus i really dig the details on the jins, you know i'm a big fan of crotch rivets and arcs. i'm starting to think ahead for my next denim acquisition...

Yeah the Jins are really nice. Although they have the wide backpocket placement but you have to embrace that if you want Leepros and I know you know that.
If you can find casper's pics on Sufu, he has a nicely faded Wrangler-repro made of the Jins denim. Also very, very good fades.
As with most LHT, it tends to create less sharp creases and leads to blurrier fades. The Jin denim also has a strong horizontal falling as opposed to vertical falling.
Hope you get what I'm trying to say

exactly! one of the main reasons why i was hoping for the SuFu x SamJins project to push through__ [the possibility of] tweaking the pocket placement.

Yeah but this one will never happen I guess.
There are still some more Leepros (e.g. my SDA) which have a narrower backpocket placement if that's the biggest concern.
But with the lack of hidden rivets, you could take care of that problem yourself.

i tend to think that one has to take on board the whole package if you're going repro anyway, the back pockets aren't really that big a deal to me. most denims in this range have one or two things you just need to accept and forgive, it's not like fashionability is an overriding concern with this sort of thing.

that said, i think my next cut will need to be a bit more modern- the majority of my recent purchases in the last year have all been repros, and i recently sold most of my modern fits. apart from my new standard, the 47 is pretty much the most modern i thing i wear these days, but i figure the silhouette on the S0110XJ would probably manage it.

those should turn out great in a short time if you still wear 'em that way. And don't rotate too much with your '44s ;-)

No don't worry mate. These are and will be my main project for this year. 44's just on the days where these are in the washer->drying or when they need some fresh air ;-)

Want to keep them dry as long as possible to get some nice all around fadings...

I actually like the wide back pockets of my Jins. I don't have to take my wallet out when I drive. The wallet ends up sitting almost on the side of my leg when I sit.
