are there two versions of the RRDS's floating around? I swear i've read on some sites (online stores) 14 oz selvage, and some saying 13.5 oz selvage, and cultizm has them as 'Rare Japan 13,5 OZ Denim'

i can't find the sites, but i swear i've read on a few that the RRDS are 14 oz

I seem to recall that they're actually 13.5, so perhaps if the minority of sites are saying 14, perhaps they're rounding the numbers.

they are actually 13.25oz (according to Nudie), the only DS that is 14oz. were the LFDS...
so basically, yes they are rounding the numbers and no, there are not two versions...

i was giving it some thought and i came to the conclusion that calling it a alf has not cought on at all. Most stores and people are still calling it a ralf. Just a thought

Well Nudie calls and labels them R. Alf just to avoid a lawsuit, doesn't really matter what other people call it.

The tag on the inside of the right leg near the hip should tell you all the info (ie. cut, size, selvedge).

I would like to see how this pair could fade with hard wear.
    And the "magic" isn't gone.
I saw pictures of awesome faded jeans and their were washed frequently.
It's a myth that washed dry won't fade as good imo.

And in the end it all comes down to taste and discussing it is worthless
