For usally a I wear US-Size 9 in most of my boots/shoes. In RW I have US 8-1/2 - they are roomy portioned also I have put inside a thin inlet-sole to save original fixed inlet-sole.

If you go down a full size, possible lenght of boots will be to short...

    Hope that helps ;-)

I guess half a size should be enough?

Do RW's also become blue from the bleeding of jeans? I'd like to get a pair but would be upset if they become just as FU'd as my sneakers.
Also what kind of oil do you use? Obenauf's or something else? and can Obenauf be used for any kind of leather material (belts, wallets, etc?)

I don't use any oil, they will become black from the indigo bleeding of dry denim.
Have a look at the pics of mine i posted a page back.

well, got a reply from shizuo on my last mail:

    I examined it.
The size with the largest RedWing2904 boots is US11D.

would it really be possible that the lineman ain't made in sizes bigger then 11D?
I emailed him back to ask him, anyone know of any other online stores that carry these?

well yeah, that was what I'm wondering about, since I really want those, I got a pair of Clapton Classics in US12D, but they seem to be a bit big, I would need an 11 or an 11.5 I guess, not sure, so I figure I might have to go with a 11.5 to be on the safe side...

maybe they just don't stock em any bigger then US11 in Japan tho... that's also possible...
damnit! I want a pair of these!

    That would make sense.

I doubt that many people in Japan have size 12 feet. I found that as well when I was looking at shoes on rakuten. They have very limited (if any) sizing for anything bigger than a 10.

You should really be careful picking your size in RedWings.
If the size is not right you'll end up with boots that are way to roomy, they give pretty much so i'd advise to fit them to get the perfect size for you, and defenitely don't buy them too big.

got an answer from Shizuo, he says it seems the lineman isn't produced in sizes bigger then 11D, that seems really weird to me but I don't seem to find them anywhere but in Japanese online stores and they only go up to 11D so maybe it's true or maybe it's just like that for Japan...

anyhow, I might go with the 11D, if they are too small I'll resell I guess, maybe Dave is interested...

I bought 3 pairs of RW boots from eBay in the past - the 1st pair were motercycle boots which cost me $49.00 (new in box). The 2nd pair were standard 875 ($49.99 - factory outlet) and the 3rd pair were 8180 (green leather version of 875, new in box) which were 36.00GBP (55.00 euro).

I was really speechless when I saw the retail prices of RW at a shop in the UK, so I just tried a pair of 875 in the shop, in order to ensure my size, then I decided to buy them from online (or auction).

those are nice, a shame they ain't the oro-iginal leather version...
I'm still stuck on this sizing thing, I measure my feet and they are about 28-28.5cm long, according to the sizing chart on redwing europe site, a US size 11 is a Japanese size 28, I assume this is just the length in cm? (but of the shoe or of the foot)

anyhow, if I judge it by that, the 11 will be very tight for me and the lineman story will end here, unless anyone knows of a non-Japanese site that has this model?
the classic boot with no moc-toe resembles the lineman the most I guess, but it's just not the same, less roughed looking...

I bought a pair of Red Wing 2971 last week. I had to downsize one size. They are still pretty hard to wear. Does anyone know how long it takes before they soften up a little?
