I know there is a thread about ordering these, but does anyone know much about this brand?

I'm interested in purchasing the Pure Blue Japan - XX-005. I've seen a few pictures of this cut in raw denim...and the cut is fantastic, and wears really nice. It seems similar to a slim jim I'd say...and has an incredible blue selvage line!

Denim ranges from 14.5oz to 17oz I believe.

    You can see them at:

Is the denim too slubby? That is the only complaint I've heard thus far

Sharp as a tack my friend (XX-005 is black btw but I don't think I told you that  )

They are slubbier than some other jeans I own, but I love slubby denim.

People have actually complained about jeans being too slubby

The only jims I can compare them to is the reg dry and dry black, since they are the only ones that I own.

What sort of things do you want to know?

The only Jim's I have are reg dry as well. I wear my Jim's pretty fitted, are the xx-005's gonna be a ton tighter?
Do you go the same size as in your Jim's?
Are they lower rise than Jim's?

I have been following some threads on superfuture about them. The general consensus is that they should be soaked before ever wearing them...which goes against everything I've done with raw denim before.

How's the wear been like? It seems as though the slubbiness really makes the wear quite irregular.

Yes, PB should be soaked before wear. All unsanforized jeans should be pre-soaked because of the amount of shrinkage.

Both my jims and pb XX-005 are a size 28.

I love the fit of both jeans.

As far as how they wear, I haven't given them too much use yet, but my XX-006 have started to fade quite nicely in a shorter period of time than most of my nudies.

I love my PBJ. I bought the 003's though I wanted the 005's for the 'low rise.' Turns out the 003's have a much lower rise than I was used to (I've been wearing RRDS's for over a year now) so it turned out to be perfect.

Slubby denim isn't for everyone but I think it's really pretty and should have some great wear patterns.

The 005's are way different than the 003's.

    Not really.

They have a slim bootcut and a loose fit. Not really the combo though

Yes but it is a tight bootcut. More like the BO witha big flare.

If you sized up so the pants were loose the the RR/A, you would have some crazy flares

PBJ - 005 are kinda hard to track down...been in contact with some people in japan who purchase items for people, but no luck.

I just did a pre-order with blue in green for a pair size 31...pretty excited to get these!

    Any pics Bilmaga?
