    Also, I might recommend the TLJDS as your first pair. I own the TLJODT, and while I love them, I kind of wish I bought the TLJDS. Should be happy either way...the TLJODT is really soft. Is there any way for you to try before you buy?

    hmm okay! thanks!

    another question, L34'' would be covering my feets entirely! from the heel to the hoe! and a lil bit more! is that supposed to be normal?

    ^ I would personally take a 32 length. That volume of stacking is just unnecessary in my opinion (FYI, I'm 5'11" and wear a 32... double cuffed).

    Oh yes, Kmart is right. I always get confused with those feet'inch measurements :-?. You must be 4" shorter than me so L34 will be too long. And apparently I have long legs since Kmart is able to double cuff L32 and I can not cuff L34 while I'm only 1 inch longer.

    I'm about 5'10", maybe 5'11", and lately I've bought 34 length. I cuff them until the first wash and then hem them afterwards. I love stacking though...especially once they start fading.

    Maybe it makes me a nerd :redface: but this discussion made me wonder about leg length vs body length and I found a Swiss study on the internet. Apparently a variation of about 6% of the SHR is possible! (Sitting Height Ratio = approx. (body length - leg length) / leg length * 100%). It is partly ethnic determined, e.g. Asians have relative short legs.

    Anyhow it means a leg length difference of up to 4" between two people of 5'7! So in future we should use leg length in this forum :mrgreen:.

    source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2872302/
    measurement for sitting height: (SHR = sitting height / body length * 100%)

    i used the vertical variation in figure 9: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2872302/figure/f9-ijerph-07-01047/

    Interesting. I'm going to have to measure the length of my legs now. Always felt as if my upper body was longer than my legs(proportionally). I'd like to see everyone elses upper/lower ratio.

    No, size down 1 or even 2 if your TF is a bit baggy or want a tight fit. I have a TF-ODEE W30 and a TLJ-DS in W29. Due to stretching it fits me now like the W30 I wear in the pic in post #637 (page 64).

    It's late but as promised, here's what my TLJs look like after two years.

    Far out they're DIFFICULT to fade!

    Hey folks,

    I'm new here and I would like to consult you denimheads!

    I went down to a retail store today to try TLJDS (denim stretch) in 30/32 and 29/32. 30 fit snugly so I went to try 29 but it was kinda tight near the rise area. I'm afraid if I take 29, it'll be like a fag fit but on the other hand i need to take a size smaller to allow it to stretch. Can someone enlighten me?

    True waist = 31-32ish
    Height = 173~cm
    Weight = 70kg

    Current denim (Unbranded 201, altered)
    Waist = 32

    Just go with what fits. If a 30 is snug, then don't go lower. Don't believe all the hype about sizing down, it really just results in a poor fit in the end...

    I agree for the most part. If 30 fit best, get a 30. It will stretch a bit, but if 29 is too tight it won't be a good time after the first wash. Get whatever size looks better.
