I thought Nudie never wanted to follow a fashion trend... ;-)
IMO Khakis and Chinos are pretty 'in' right now (and last season)

Dude... They look so slick. I've been looking for ultra-slim khakis for a while, but sadly all I've found so far are so sh*t-quality :p But I'm pretty positive Nudie's khakis won't disappoint :)

And yeah, beautiful_FrEak, I thought they weren't interested in the "short term fashion trend" thing. But I guess it'd be a bit dumb for them to not have done it, cause Nudie Jeans are very popular in Australia for the past couple of years, and as you said, khakis were pretty much the only thing "cool kids" would wear in Australia and the like. So yeah, Nudie will definitely make a killing in Australia with their new line of khakis. Heheh, just saying ;-)

A bit off topic, the High Kai Recycle Dry Navy (henceforth HKRDN) looks really, really, really sick!!

I like this Khaki idea very much, too... A real tight khaki with stretch. Come on. Those will be comfortable summer pants!!!

Damn, was just gonna start this thread. You beat me to it haha.

I think they look awesome. I will definitely be picking up at least one pair (especially considering I have to wear Khakis to school).

I wrote Nudie an email asking for another W&T Comp and the Khaki price-range. Another W&T maybe next fall. Khakis will be 119-199(!)€. Most models will be 139€ <-- This a joke?!?

why should they sell them much cheaper than their current jeans? and remember, Nudie is a 'premium' brand so you also pay 'premium'

I thought those would be like 70-100€ which would be still expensive for a pair of Khakis. Seeing this I stick to denim...

I'll maybe consider buying one... not for the fashion just because the past 6 years of school I haven't had a choice on what to wear in school.....

Ok, I just realized how young some of you are (wow, you're still at school?!! Crikey!).
Regarding the whole khaki issue: Nudie 's got me back because of it. I have quite a few jeans these days and although I'm not really tired of them, I'd like something new. Also, I was never too impressed by the "swong" (back pocket stitching), I always found it too dominant and I don't like to be branded like that - I wear Nudies because of the fit, the colour palette and the fabrics.
I think the Nudie Khaki line is great, because it fits right in with Nudie's overall aesthetic. They're the first khakis/chinos I've seen, that actually "rock", they look a bit rough and have patina.
Ten years ago, when the "nouveau jeans craze" started, Nudie's manifesto rang true - but these days, they should say that they'd include anything into their line, if they can make it work and if it would still keep their line aesthetic as tight as possible. So, who knows, maybe in five years, someone will re-invent cargo pants (hated them back in the 90s, but they're already coming back, slimmed down ). And Nudie might just figure out how to produce Cargos with that same rustic feel and it'd be alright. Then again, maybe that's where the line has to be drawn. ;)

    you pay that money because:
-It's made in somewhere I've rarely heard of
-It has the "Nudie Jeans Co" tag on it
-They think that rising the price will make you think you are buying something more "premium"

I would rather take that money over to the supermarket on sufu, and buy a pair of premium jeans that are actually high quality. Sorry, but this shit pisses me off especially since all the khakis I have gotten were <$50, and they have been going strong for the past 4 years. So to put $250 on a pair of khakis is more than overpriced especially for a brand not known for their good quality (ie. crotch blowouts). Sorry for the rant.
