Well the tight long john that I think you looked at is probably TLJ denim stretch. The only dry TLJ are the TLJ Recycle Dry Power. BUT although the TLJ denim stretch is not dry, it fades like a dry pair. The only difference it has with TF dry stretch is that it has been rinsed once.

They'll pretty much stretch out in places where they need to stretch instantaneously when you wear them. So yeah, calves and thighs should stretch out by some amount. I don't have a TLJDS but I do have some other dry denim which is practically made up of the exact same material, and yes they'll stretch out quite a bit.

No need to worry though. Everytime you wash it shrinks back into brand-new size + additional shrinking.

When you buy a dry model, you should always size down one to get a similar fit. The prewashed ones rund approx. 1" smaller because of the treatment. And the dry stretch a bit more, so if your prewash fit is already too loose, get a 27 or maybe even 26

27 sounds nice if you want a tight fit. I'd get the 28 though because I like it that way =)

Alright i tried on 28 and i liked the fit (snug around the waist and perfectly tight around calves/thighs) i thought about going down a size and when i tried the 27s, i couldnt button them and they were skin tight. your saying they stretch out quite a lot. if i get the 27s will they stretch out to a better fit cause i dont wanna lose the fit of the 28s because of stretch

If you like the fit, get them. Don't get a smaller size because "it'll stretch out later". Because it very well might not, and then you just wasted your money. Just my two cents.

Oh and if you can't button them at all, definitely DON'T get them; you'll just regret it later. Freidrich can tell you all about that. ;-)

^ Ye it sucks. I don't understand what the problem is, if you're getting a TLJ you can have a large size and it'll still be tight. My TLJDS is size 29 but I can button a 26

In that case go with the 28, one size above the one you couldn't button up should give you a nice fit eventually IMO

You asked this question before mate, and I will answer again... you CANNOT make jeans bigger (especially 4 sizes!).

    Stop trolling. :-D

Then take them to your local tailor and find out. It's as simple as that. You don't need some forums permission. But either way it's prolly gonna look weird because your altering the shape.

Sure, you can alter the waist to make it smaller if you'd like, but making them bigger is just not logical. Sorry.

you CAN make them bigger...and you already got the answer from MaxPower how it would look like (stupid if you ask me).
Nudies aren't that expensive and you always find a good deal, better buy a new one

Stupid? I hope you're referring to the look, not the answer. But yes, b_f is right, get a new pair then.

yeah the look would be stupid then. I saw a pair of altered S710XX where the backseam was opened and there was a piece of denim sewn in

Not too sure where to post this but this seems like an appropriate place.

I just bought a pair of Selvage Tims and unfortunately yesterday a black pen broke in my pocket. Now I have a patch about the size 15x15mm that is super dark and is a little bit hard. Is there anyway to get rid of this whilst maintaining the original finish?

Is the stain on the outside? But 15x15 isn't that large. Perhaps putting them in the fridge and scraping it off with a knife...? It'll look a bit weird either way, you can leave it without problem imo. Also with wear the stain will grow fainter and smaller
