Is it possible to alter/taper just the leg part of the jean below the knee only?.
I brought some AJ's that are 34 waist yet the leg opening is a bit loose compared to my AJDH that are 32 waist yet i dont want to size down cos i've put weight on hence me going up in the waist.
I wanna take maybe 1/2 inch off the leg width from the leg opening.

I wouldn't alter you jeans. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment if the tailor does a poor job or something you don't want and you want to alter them again to fix it. Also, the Average Joe is meant to me a looser more relaxed cut.

But i heard people on here do similar things so it can work also im altering the jean to fit like another AJ jean rather than going for another fit of jean that would be totally different to the AJ.

Different denim means that it's going to fit a tad bit differently. For instance, the organic denims used by nudie are usually of a lighter weight and consistency so they fall differently on the wearer. My SJDJ fits differently than my prewashed Slim Jim which I'm pretty sure are made out of the same denim as SJDBT. If you truly see the leg opening as something that truly bothers you and are convinced that altering them would be a good choice...then do it. I advise against it because it's hard to go back and fix things if you're not pleased with the result. The Avergae is also a relaxed cut that is meant to fall in a certain way...if you tapper them at the bottoms... it might throw off the whole fit of the jeans. Altering is easier with an already slim fitting jean like Slim Jim or Thin Finn because the silhouette is already made to look slimmer. A lot of people who alter or have altered jeans on this site usually have done so with slimmer models (at least I think).

My jeans size is too big, need your opinions!

    Hello Guys!

well, this is my first thread, so forgive me if it was still a beginner ;-) ;-) and I have some questions about the slim jim dry broken twill I bought new about 1 week ago. the problem is the size of my slim jim. the actual size is 34/34 but I forgot to menurukan my size when I bought it to look fittings, and now my jeans look a little too big. so can you give me some suggestions? I really need your opinions to make my slim jim look cool!! thanks:p

Hey I have a question. I got my slim jim dry denim nudies about 11 months ago. I wore them everyday for around 6 months until they smelled like a hamster cage. When it came time for my first wash, I didn't trust the laudromat machines because the heat gets screwed up lots and often washes cold. I dropped them off with the rents and asked my mom if she could wash them while I was at work. I told her 60 degrees. I picked them up after work and she said she just used warm water. So there was almost no fading or contrasting. I have been wearing them pretty solid for the past 5 months and it's time for another wash. Am I still gonna be able to get a good contrast if I do hot water? Or are they stuck like this? Please tell me I'm ok because I've put 11 months into these jeans and want a good contrast.

    Thanks in advance!

^imo they will always fade. so just give them a good wash and you're fine.
pics would be better to judge the situation...

^^ I agree with Finn, with pictures we could actually help you :] Hot water should create sharper contrasts so I'm confused. Did you have any contrast visible on your jeans before wash?

Your jeans aren't ruined. I'm just surprised at what happened

I don't have enough posts to add attachments yet. So I washed them hot last night, and let them hang dry over night. I mean, they have more fades than when I bought them for sure, but I still dont have any definition in the whiskers or honeycombs and no real contrast in the jeans. They still look like a pair of dark blue jeans.. I do have some minor tears starting in the honeycombs, so I know that I'm wearing them hard enough. But the dye isn't really coming out when I wash them. So this is 11 months of constant wear and 2 washes. Any thoughts?

Appearently it's not enough. There's only one thing left to do - the only thing you haven't done in them yet. There's no other way.

You could upload your pics to an image site instead like tinypic, imageshack etc and post them here.
