It doesn't look like there's all that much visible wear on them, so if they don't smell too bad, I'd keep going. Concerning the stretching, they'll just stretch again, and likely faster than they did the first time. I'd keep wearing them until you have more visible fading (washing doesn't make fading appear, just accentuate what's there).
Soaking and Washing I was browsing the denimology website and stumbled across the "diary" of the sickest evisus Ive seen in a while (the link is: http://www.evisu.com/blog/2007/08/07/evisu-lot-2001-no-2-tokyo-gull/) the guy said that he soaked and washed them and i was wondering if theres a difference b/w the 2. Ive been working on a pair of organic even stevens for 6 months but since they are kinda baggy on me Im not ready to wash them yet... should i soak them???
Do you want to know the difference between washing and soaking? It should be self explanitory, or did you mean something else?
People soak jeans to shrink them if they're unsanforized (not a problem for Nudies), remove factory starch when they're new (not an issue in your case), and to remove some excess dirt. I tried it with a pair of mine, and it just ended up making the lighter side, visible from the cuffs, look streaky and filthy. I just ended up washing them anyway. Soaking will lift some dirt, but not do a great job. It doesn't do much to the indigo since there's no agitation as in the wash.
Yeah... whats the difference & if I wanted to soak mine do I just throw 'em in a tub of water or what? I'm trying to get as much info as i can so i don't end up messing my jeans up.
bleach... on purpose?!?! So since I got my first nudies (dry, of course) I have only worn my other pre-wash jeans a couple times a month MAX and even though my RRDS got their first wash last week after 6 months they are still pretty dark. Since all the other jeans I wear are still dry I really want a lighter pair of jeans to wear now and then and browsing through the picture gallary I saw sebasz.'s RRGC and he said he had washed them once with a little bleach. I realize he also wore them for 4 years and they get lighter with each wash, but I'd like a pair that doesn't look the exact same color as all my other dry's. I tried searching, but everywhere bleach comes up it's a big no no, for obvious reasons. Well, I need a lighter pair of jeans and was wondering if anyone has any experience with adding a little bleach to a wash down the road to give me a light pair of dry/formerly dry denim... here's an example of sebasz. greycasts which is something along the look I'd be aiming for...
Perfect. Thanks a bunch... ya, that's exactly what I want, looks like a cup of bleach in the next wash it is!
JUST got my RRDS's... do i just start wearing them, or is there something i need to do to them first? I seen/read some people pre-soaking jeans? but not 100% sure what context that was in... cheers, daniel
No soak. Just wear them. You only need to soak if the jeans are unsanforized and in your case, nudies are sanforized.
Hi, new here. Read the forums, and looked at the sweet sweet pics long enough, I finally got some AJs from Cultizm, and I'm on day 3 of wearing them. I have 2 questions: 1. Should I post pics? 1.5 if so how often should i do so? 2. I have a problem with keys eating thru my pockets, what the heck do i do with them?
This is more cell phone care than anything, but care non the less For those of you who keep your cell in you back pocket, are you not afraid of crushing it?
Hi, pretty sure this is the right place to post. I've just bought my first pair of Nudie Jeans, they are Thin Finn "Ultra Indigo Coated". I've worn them now for about 4 or 5 days. Just a couple questions... 1. I've already spilt stuff on them which looks kind of bad as it contrasts with the dark colour. Would it be ok to wipe them with a wet cloth? 2. I Bought size 31/32 which seems to be a bit to big for me, quite unfortunate because they are not cheap! is there any way at all of shrinking them, even a little bit? If anyone could give me some advice that would be great. Thanks Joe
