Well, I have a question concerning sizing on the Flat Head 3003, if anybody has any experience with them (HJJ?). Any specific sizing recommendations? Do they fit true to size, do they stretch, should I size down at all? Thank you...

Size down, usually jeans with a high rise should be sized down if you intend to wear them high on your waist.

Btw they are one of my favourite FH models.

Thanks! They will probably be my next purchase, not that I really need any more jeans. The fading seems to be very interesting on them.

can someone help me with denime sizing? i dunno whether they're sanforised but i think they dont, i usually wear 31 in nudies and my waist size is 86cms. I wonder since i know that i need to soak it bfore i wear to get the real size (shrinkage and stuffs), but its gonna be my first time doing so, can someone help me with this? im 90% sure that im gonna grab one DENIME 66 type *it's gonna be my 3rd dry and my 1st japanese dry!* (want to start with something that isn't that expensive), wat size should i get? and wat is the difference between the 66 type and XX type and XX type II? im really interested with the XX type as well. Thanks alot, and again sorry if i ask stupid question.

Denimes are not sanforised so account for shrinking. The XX type is darker and fades differently. I can't remember if its heavier or not but they look quite different.

The XX type II was a softer denim I think. I'm not denime expert but maybe Naoto and Tiro could help you out more with it.

Nice choice on denime though, good stuff.

Thanks cameland, yea im wondering whether the measurements on their website is pre-soak or post-soak, it said the 33 inch = 87 cms (for XX type) but if it will shrink 5cms then i wont be able to use it. XX type is darker? then i think im going to grab those instead. lol i really like darker denim somehow. i really want to join the contest but im going overseas before new year and dun really think have a place to soak the jeans. i think i'll wait for tiro or naoto to help me then!

if i buy the 1 wash then it means i dun need to soak it? yea i've seen their samples on their website, OMG im so in love with those jeans. lol

PS: looking at the one wash, the 34 inch looks gonna fit me right though *waist: 86 cms*, should i go with this one?

Um somehow I think those measurements are wrong. I would go with your nudie size or one up from your nudie size. If its one wash then you don't need to soak them, they will have shrunk fully already.

that is also the things that i worried about, if i buy the 34 and it turns out to be so huge (it's really hard to buy things that u can't try lol), i wonder why they can have such a weird measurement things happen. *sigh*, anyway thanks alot dom! i hope people that expert with denime can give their opinion as well.

    Happy to help^^

Well they might be ignoring this thread for now, maybe you can PM. For reference, Naoto is a size 30 in everything basically and he wears size 30 in RRDS and 30 in his Denime Kyotos and Tokyos which are (i think) based on the 66 cut.

That's interesting, it's confusing to see the measurements on their website, their USED JEANS (pre-washed i guess) even has an even worse measurements going on. Anyway i've sent a pm to naoto, hoping to hear from him soon.

That would be an excellent rule so long as people know what the hell "true to size" means. It can be interpreted in so many ways Josh!

I dunno man, the best way is to measure it and compare measurements. See my actual waist measures 32 yet I wear all my jeans in size 30 or lower. Is my true waist 30 or 32? My hips also measure 34 so what about that

well i think 32 is my true size but i always buy dry in 31 (where it feels so tight to account for strecth), but then again it's not always 31, i use 32 for GT, and it actually differ depends on the brand, which kinda confusing if i can't try bfore buy. i think i just simply go to hongkong and visit that take5 jeans store and try all japanese jeans i want!! LOL
