I would like to see a thread about retro adverts for denim like 1950s to mid 1970s. I think that could be really interesting and inspiring (I like advertising esp retro).

Any ideas for reasonably priced selvage chambrays? I love Ih shirts as the sizing works on me (FlatHead has too short arms), but I don't want to spend that much. A button down collar would be great (even if that's not "original") and the buttons should not be screaming. Intention: wearable at work, together with my brwon linnen suit for example.

I see some of you have been matching a bandana. Where did you find inspiration to match the bandana from?

Also, is Cold Summer's bandana the same as Max Power's just that the knot is behind?

my inspiration comes from everywhere, not necessarily from magz of blogs. in this bandana case, i referred it to lady gaga combined with that oldskool motorcycle gang look....

well she can combine both modern and oldskool looks.... i remember i saw this lady from the sartorialist

my guess is that she is wearing LVC1915 (judging from the rivets, cinchback, suspender buttons, arcs and patch) which are very rare jeans for ladies but she pulls off the look very well....

1950s 701,the lady's name is Doris Stinson Lutes....

^should be a 20s models, due to the belt loops. The shoes are  but the rest is cool. Doris is my fave.

Damn she wears those Levi's well! Not (really not) digging the shoes though.
I donated my pair of Sugarcane Hawaii to my lady since they did not fit me anymore, they do give her a really vintage looking nice full cut fit, she wears them only ever so often.

Doris looks lovely, if only i was born in that era :icon_twisted:

which shoes? i like the first picture better, they're so called "fashion" boots and i would wear em...

edit: oh i wear SC40724 occasionally and fit is pretty much similar to my 1947 and S710.... think the closest 701 fit of modern repro jeans is my Momotaro Peony label which was already discontinued....
i give up skinny jeans this year.... tired of em ;-)

when Kayo gets her gothic ninja thing done, I wouldn't be surprised to see those heelbreaking boots on her.
