    Nylon Guys

    Hey all, I have a question I cannot find the answer too!

    On the Cover of Nylon Guys, the issue Zac Efron is featured on, what jeans does he have on? They are not his typical Thin Finn's. If you google "Zac Efron Nylon Guys Cover", you will see the blue jeans, that seem to be raw denim, with orange stitching

    any help would be awesome!!

    so today my mom bought a new gucci wallet to replace her year old louis vuitton wallet. to my surprise her louis vuitton wallet was falling apart which was surprise because she paid big cash on that wallet. so the lesson i learned today was expensive things arent always better. on the other hand my dad has this $10 calvin klein wallet that he sits on everyday for two years and its still intact.

    I would think there is actually only one distinction: synthetic indigo and non-synthetic, natural indigo (which is more or less processed in order to achieve various degrees of shades).

    the terms genuine and pure should be describing natural indigo, but they could also be "marketing terms". I would be cautious when these terms show up and try to verify.

    I'm not sure what the difference between "genuine" and "pure" indigo would be, but I'd guess that "natural" indigo would refer to it being not synthetic. "Genuine" and "pure" indigo may be entirely indigo, but likely synthetic indigo, while other brands might use other fillers as well.

    However, I'm sure that FOXY is right, and they may largely be marketing terms, as I'd assume there is no legal standard for the use of the terms.

    The term genuine and pure indigo is used to describe synthetic indigo by the different brands now, just to make it sound more appealing :p

    In terms of reading the blurb on webshops, the following usually applies...

    Genuine = Pure = Synthetic
    Natural = Plant Dye

    From my experience, a quick way of telling the difference is:
    Natural = Plant dye = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Are there any brands that still use actual indigo? I was under the impression that it's pretty much exclusively synthetic at this point.

    ^^ Haha, too true Woody!

    ^ Kmart, most Japanese brands have a couple of natural plant (i.e. "actual") indigo models regularly... SDA releases a few every year, and Sugar Cane had 7 100% natural models available a few years back.

    PBJ and Oni both have models (the ones that are quite streaky in appearance, and cost $500+). Samurai seems to do one each year as well. They are around, but be prepared to spend about double what you would for any other pair of premium denim.

    Yeah samurai has what i believe is a new model this year. Don't know what it actually sells for, but it's called S510AI-OGSP. S510XX cut, 100% natural indigo and some really nice details... price? 63 000Y.

    I'd like a pair of natural indigo jeans, but the price is just too steep for me

    Edit: for those playing along at home, that's almost 3x as much as some of their regular models :lol:

    yep...it's pretty expensive. we will see if they are worth it ;-)

    but SDA and other brands also offer AI models for less
