I'll add them, and keep me posted wether that thread is updated.

However, I'm still a bit puzzled about why samurais would need a thread of their own since the table of contents does separate all makes and models. - Sure the hyperlinks will get you to a different thread, but the whole purpose was to get all makes and models in one place. Hopefully this won't become a standard procedure for each make.

I did it because I already did one fit guide just for Samurai jeans before. But it was just a post in the Samurai threads on Sufu,MyNudies and Styleforum. And the link is in my signature, so if people are just interested in Samurai, they just have to visit that one thread about it. Your database will be huge and over time maybe confusing (even with hyperlinks).

It was not my intention to offend you

    You didn't, don't worry.

I know keeping the Jeans measurement database might be a handfull in the future, but I'll try to keep it as simple, clean and easy to use as possible. I think I'll manage updating the JMD if you'll notify me whenever new measurements appear in the Samurai thread so thats cool, but I'm sure you can see what a pain it would be to update the database, if I had to coordinate with numerous brand-specific threads.

If the database stays like this, I won't have any trouble updating the table of contents.

And again, I'm not trying to diss you B_F, your contribution is very much appreciated (dispite the fact that youre INSANE with all those samurais..)!

Yeah, they do run quite big (can't even wear them without a belt).

And this is the main reason the JMD thread is needed. (not to mention my "tag 30in - measures 36,5in" Pace jeans)

So it's been almost a week now since the last post on the JMD-thread, and I think it's starting to form nicely to serve it's purpose! Hopefully there'll be more measurements this weekend, remember, the thread is to help this community, so please, contribute!

    regards - Jaypee

I do hope more people contribute! It's one of those threads that is a great idea, but will only work with the support of the community. Seems like many regulars haven't even looked at it yet unfortunately.

I'll post my Jims and Finns later tonight.

Edit: Jims are posted. They turned out awful (way too tight, washed too early, etc.), so it's mainly to deter people from sizing down so much ;-)

Great idea with this jeans measurment database. My first idea was if this would be useful for denim jackets too. But then I was thinking, that measure denim jackets is probably not that important since most people hopefully don't buy too thight sizes and some shrinkage shouldn't be a big topic then

Laxlife : I added your Strikes to the list, would you mind editing your post and state what size are the jeans (tagged)?

In general, I'm a bit dissapointed with how often the database gets updates. Only FOUR members have contributed so far, and the thread has been around for three weeks. I know there are ton's of jeans to be measured on these boards, all it takes is to measure them.

    Regards - Jaypee

So, this is my checkup on how the database is doing. I used to do this daily, now it has turned into a weekly and soon it will be unnecessary. It seems the database didn't grow into this community as I'd hope and I'm still questioning why. I believe it has huge potential to help people choose / order jeans correctly, and participating doesn't take much.

So, once more, I'm still asking you find the time to measure some jeans and post them to the database so others can use them as reference.

I've been checking in from time to time to see if the intrest in this idea has grown. It seems it hasn't, nor does it provoke conversation of any sort. I'm still a firm believer this could be a great idea, hopefully people would give some insight on why are they ignoring it - is it just cause you don't feel like it's necessary or it's a bad design?

I don't think it's anything like that... I really think it's just laziness. Everyone has at least several pairs of jeans to measure (some have many more), but they see this thread, say "Oh, great idea, I have to do that later", and then never do it. I know I'm somewhat guilty of this too, I still haven't gotten around to measuring my Finns - though I do have a couple other pairs in the database.

Just added my Finns. Hopefully I can link it for people who have sizing questions about the TF instead of constantly answering the same "should I take a 31 or 30?" questions over and over again.

Just checked the JMDB-thread and to my surprise, there were several new pairs measured! I added them to the list so the database will be up-to-date. Thanks to all for contributing, lets keep the database alive!

Updated couple more pairs on the fist post. The total jeans count today is 34 pairs, which is a good start! Hopefully you'll keep on contributing!

I know this doesn't apply to 99% of readers of this Forum, but for girl's jeans there needs to be a hip measurement.

    I measure:
    Waist:22"
    Hips:28"
    Inside leg seam:34"!

So all I have at the moment is a pair of Nudies TLJ in W24 because they're unisex - but the hips still measure 32" and my other jeans were custom made.

Even brands that sell W23" (of which I've tried loads) actually measure more like W28", hips 34"!!

I know every woman is a different shape so it's easier to design a mans jean, but I hate Lycra and love skinny jeans in heavy top quality Jap denim.
(My Nudies are too big but great quality and will fade in a lovely way and very good value)

How do companies work out hip to waist ratio for women's jeans???
Even Diesel girls age 10 are too big on the hips and waist for me but too short in the leg.

My Mum reckons I'm a spider!!!

Yeah important point when it comes to womens fit measurements.
And interesting question about the companies hip to waist ratio calculation.
I have no clue about that either

That's why I can't understand how guys can surprise their "girl" with a pair of good raw jeans.

How would they ever get the size right???

I'll stick to buying my own!!!

BTW wish I could visit your museum one day....
