Considering ordering a pair in 30x34.

Currently I only own a pair of SJDJ 31x34 and the waist is stretched out.

    My only concern is aesthetics.

How shiny is the dry coated black? Does it really resemble a pair of leather pants?

    FYI
I am having a hard time finding some black drys. A pair of GTDBS was too tight 30x34, and I do not really like the orange stitching on the side of the SJDBS.

    TIA

I wann get a SJDBC or a grey coated...but which one? On the most pictures the black coated looks more grey than black. Any suggestions about that SHINE after the first wash at the grey ones? I don't want a black one to look grey after washing them, but I guess a lighter grey after washing a grey coated looks awesome? Any suggestions?

I think if you wash them it will still remain blackish instead of greyish. However, you may lose the shine though.

Black doesn't look grey after wash, they'll look black.

Get both :) Black 1st, then grey, that's what I did.

Today my wife bought a Thin Finn Dry Grey Coated- very nice. The greytone is very cool and elegant. I ordered myself the Slim Jim in Dry Black Coated, but tell me, is there an orange leather patch on this one :-|? The black one on the TFDGC looks so awesome...

In regards to the SJDBC and how much they with stretch the guys at Denim Bar say that you should size down. Dejan at Cultizm say not to size down. And I have gotten equally conflicting advice from members here. How can a guy decide?

Does anyone want to add their 2 cents on the matter?

I ordered them in my normal size: 32" x 32".

I've got a SJDG in 32"x 34" (the longer inseam will shrink nearly to my normal size after washing them someday), 32" in the waist because of the regular dry stretching and it fits well after a few days.
I've got also a SJDB in 32" x 34" , washed once and it fits really tight. Shrinked inseam to 33".
Last not least I've got a SJSB (prewashed) in 33" x 32" which fits perfect and a little, little bit looser in the hips vs. the greycast.

So I guess you should order your SJDBC in your normal size if you want them good and slim-straight looking, or size down for a slimmer fit. As said before, the Coated Nudies runs a little bit bigger, maybe 0.5 inches.

And to answer myself my question above- it's the natural leather patch :(.

Where did you got it from? I ordered mine from Cultizm and it's the all black patch.

^^ p/s help me get a Nudie bible from your friend!

I got my pair from Cultizm and the patch is tan.

The first batch of SJDBC had tan patches.

I have seen it with the normal patch. My guess is that they are from an earlier batch and they no longer produce it (do correct me if I am wrong as mine's black and I do believe in the corner of my mind I have seen a normal leather patch before). If it's so, maybe you're lucky because you got something that no longer in production but maybe you're unlucky because you couldn't get what you wanted.
