ive been working on my esod's for 9 mon.
okay, more like 5, im stuck in the caribbean and i didnt bring them with me for 4 mon.

my question is, is it just me or does it seem like the OD's dont age well.
ive yet to see a well broken in, awesomely faded pair.
mine, which i wore like no other for 4-5 mon barely has combs in the back and a modicum of crotch fading.
or am i not active enough in mine?

They had little white pills all over them. I think they also looked like they were washed too early as well. I haven't really seen a pair with lots of wear either. Maybe these just need more lovin?

Eh, that's what everyone said about the Ola. I saw nothing but lovely results from mine. I can only prescribe you wear them "harder" more often, and relentlessly. ;-)

I always thought the OD sucked, so really I'm not suprised. The blue/blacks are much better in terms of fading.

vince, johncubus had it right. you could have used a couple more months before washing. but youre on the right track, im pretty close to where youre at.

saucy's are okay, but again, too early with the wash i think.

cabl3, i have them with me now, but INITIALLY i left them at home for the first 4 mon. why? i love me nudies, but when youre in the hot caribbean sun at 95+ degrees and 100% humidity AND walking everywhere, tight jeans is the last thing on your mind. and youve never shipped to the caribbean before either eh? try it. its a WHOLE LOAD of fun.

and as an update, ive been enduring the heat and working on my esod's. the whiskers and combs are starting to come out more. i might jump ship to PRPS though. lol.

Baints2 stop digging up old threads...

ProjectD, the denim on ESOD is different to the denim on GTOD.

    haha same here...

i'm at 8 months, daily wear, zero washes/soaks, and am planning to go another 4 months.

that said, here's a question: i understand the prescribed wash-at-6-months rule of thumb, but is there anything NEGATIVE about not washing for so long?

the negative thing is that dirt and factory starch weakens the fabric making it prone to rip.

    Not too bad!
I can't tell too much from the pictures, they seem a bit washed out, but the creases are there!

I've been itching to get some new ones too. Somedays, I just really don't like the fit of my ESDOs... The Ralfs on the Marketplace are calling my nameeeee

yeah i feel you man... some days i catch myself walking by a mirror and can't resist saying to myself "omfg look at that sexy beast and his even steven fit!"... other days, the low yoke irritates the hell out of me--it folds in/out a bit awkward sometimes unless i keep adjusting it. i know slim jims wouldn't have that problem

ahhh just a day in the life of a denim enthused maniac
