Can only speak for one of us but probably around 10 for me personally. Mostly Edwin and LVC. Used to have a lot more but I ended up selling them as I got a little fat :(. At the minute I rotate between..

    Course not!

But personally I would think what you have should be quality>quantity, cause anyone can have a pair of Nudies and own 20 pairs, and usually you can find a lot of places having sales with Nudies. I mean if thats your cup of tea, then own them, but I would much rather have 3-4 pairs of good quality Japanese denim since they don't go out of style, and each pair will probably last a long time.

^ +1. If you can't have quality + quantity, the next best thing is quality > quantity.

I'm doing well this year, so far having only bought I pair
Actually thinking of going cold turkey for a couple of years and wear out some of what I have...

I also think, that if you're really into denim, it is nice to have some variability in your collection. Concerning fits, brands, fabrics, denim weights etc. Of yourse, if somebody is in love with one brand, he will probably buy more jeans of that brand (b_f, looking in your direction!), but the whole picture only shows, when you got more models (which I know b_f has got, so all is fine :p).
It's like in music: if you like any modern rock band, that's great, but you should know the roots, so that you can devide original and follower.

And this happens with time and patience. Nudies are the entry card like any popular rock band, and if you're really interested and not just a trend follower, you will swim towards the source and enjoy the way. Pathetic, but that's how I see it.

You can see Nudie as the support band before the real concert starts ;-)

I tried a few brands and I still admire most of them and don't wanna miss them but like everyone should know, I found "my" brand which satisfies me (Samurai).
But I try not to be closed-minded and preach&preach how great Samurais are and that everybody should get a pair and that they are better than any other brand. I get still fascinated by other high-end Japanese brands like Evisu, Fullcount or Sugarcane (a brand with as sick if not even sicker denim than Samurai).
All those brands have a different philosophy and I like that.

Some guys, like MaxPower, want to cover a wide range of brands, fits and denim types. That is a great way for a denim lover and a person who still wants to experiment.

I have to admit them I'm a denim lover AND a collector. I'm quite sure that some of my pairs won't get the love they deserve but I won't part with them.
