wore them in rotation with another pair, so there might be net wear of 6-7 months. The crotch itself is fine but i wear my pants pretty low, so that i have massive fading under the back pockets. The right side under the pocket ripped as i jupped on the load area of a truck and i had to get it repaired.

Hi I'm new to the forum and relatively new to raw denim.
I'm about to get 1 more pair but I can't make up my mind on what to get maybe you guys can be of assistance.

Edwin Sen Selvage Skinny Japan Jean

Edwin Sen Selvage Skinny Cinch Japan Jean

I know their basically the same jean but the cinch pair has selvage back pockets and obviously the cinch.
I have read that the selvage back pockets are "annoying", I guess that means they get ruined easily?

I don't know what the purpose of the cinch is either.....So yeh I don't know what to get please help lol.

I have the grim tims in dry dirt organic and I love the colour and the rigidness but I would like to get something with the same/similar cut/colour but heavier denim, looking to spend under $175
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Yeah they are the same, the cinch is kind of paying homage to older miner jeans that were only one size fits all kinda thing. The cinch was used to tighten the waist, kind of like an in-built belt. The exposed selvage pockets are really tacky in my opinion, I don't think they would get ruined easily, but I think selvage itself, looks really bad unless in on the outseam of jeans. From my experience edwin denim is very good but does have a slight green cast once washed, which is actually really similar to the dirty drys.

    my 2 cents

    Thanks for the reply man.
That's cool I didn't know that, It's funny how the jeans most of the people on here and sufu would/do jizz over were worn by miners who were not fashionable at all and didn't give a shit about jeans.
I'm edging closer to purchasing the Edwin Sen Selvage Skinny Japan Jean unless you or any 1 else have any other recommendations?

    +1 on everything.

I wore the Sen Selvage Cinch Jeans once and loved the fit, but didn't get them because of too much visible selvage. Looks cheap IMO.

You may have noticed, that there are two kinds (at least on SF and MN) of denimfans: modernists, who like slim jeans and traditionalists (the so-called "Engineer from the 30s/Denim Bro" look). So (I would consider myself more in the last group) - the latter do give a sh*t about trends and fashionability.

You're right, SuFu is elitist as f*ck.

What I'm wearing right now is a mixture of Momotaro 0905 SP, LVC 44 501, LVC 201 and Iron Heart 634 S-B. Stronghold Straight leg River Wash lie here unworn, but I might start them soon, too.

haha sufu is really a mixed bag, a lot of jerks there, a lot of really nice people and many who are in between that. It is an amazing forum though, a lot of the progression of dry/vintage denim knowledge by fans outside of japan has really taken off with the help of the super denim forum. Give them credit for that at least. I learnt almost everything i know about jeans from sufu. It's just not a community I like to be active in. Amazing wealth of information there though, on jeans or general clothing/fashion related topics.

If you read the entire denim encylopedia thread, like I have. Then you basically know everything i know!

    Nice collection man.
I like the Iron Heart SH-08 Superstealth and the LVC 44 both nice jeans.
I also like the "I don't look at the camera look" hahaha

Lots of good info on there I have been lurking for a while, waiting for my registration to be approved.
I was looking for info about shrinking jeans on the encyclopedia, lots of good info there.

I'm about to order the cinchless sens.

Thanks :) And the cinchless sens are cool, you'll like them. They fade not easily, but I absolutely like the fit, one of the best in terms of slim cuts IMO.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I tried on the pair with the cinch, they fit great but there a lil big around the waist, great fit but they'll stretch so I opted for a smaller/tighter pair.
I ordered the 30/32 cinchless pair off the net you guys helped in that decision.
In Perth the jeans cost $245 I ordered them for $139.88 free shipping, fooken hell I love online shopping.
