you know, that was exactly what i was thinking- you read my mind! how thick are those belts though?

redwing gt + ald belt + one pair of denim. the perfect menu, and that should get free shipping. that sounds like a plan...

Uh, I do not know exactly, but I am sure that they are a bit thicker than usual belts. I bought this one to complement my black Gentleman Travellers:

i only ask because i do have a very wide belt already that doesn't see a great deal of action nowadays. i'm not much of a belt wearer to begin with, and it's taken some time to get used to the very wide belt. i will say though, these belts are very damn nice :)

^^ Just read your edit. If you'll do so, do yourself a big favour and try a pair of Slim Jims in Dry Greycast. They're out of stock (except cultizm!!!), they're wonderful, true to size and they fade really fast (and they're also made of rare japanese denim :p). Complement a white tee and you've got a simple and cool high quality outfit.

This is one of my favourite styles, but australia is far away...

i just checked those out, and they have them in my size... but with a 34 inseam, and you probably know by now how i feel about those... ;-)

maybe when the time comes there'll be a restock, they do look awesome :)

as for australia being far away, it never fails to amaze me how quickly shipments arrive from europe. my personal best was a pair of a.p.c. petit standards that arrived from the uk 3 working days after i ordered- it's a pretty small world nowadays ;-)

Afaik they won't be restocked unfortunately. My Greycasts are also 34" inseam (my regular size is 32x32") and they shrink after their 2nd wash to a 32" length, really perfect.

yeah, i suppose there's not such a big taper on the sj as there is on the gt, where my problem is right now- a 10" knee doesn't sit so well above a 6" calf... i'll bet the last of them will be gone by the time my order goes in, i'm looking at at least 3 months, i think. this may happen sooner if i get myself a 'real job' before that, the big purchase was planned to be a reward for actually using my qualifications and quit being a bum. the original plan was something japanese and hardcore, but i think you may have convinced me to change my mind ;-)

...this wasn't my intention tbh, but I'm sure you'll be fine with it. "Only good stuff, no mainstream" is still the main rule.

I wear a pair of Allen Edmonds' cordovan Dalton dress boots. They look badass with a pair of slim/tapered selvedge denim jeans, like PRPS Furys.
