A fashion rule from the past says that you should never attempt double denim. Especially if the shirt matches the color of your jeans is is said to be a faux pas. Now jean shirts have been all the rage the last two years or so, what do you think; a big NO-NO of a cool look? I think i like the look. Answer the poll and share your dd style if yo answer A.

I often wear a denim pants/-jacket combo with a flanell, henley or tee underneath...
It´s about how you feel. If you feel like a jerk wearing double denim, don´t do it.

I've never worn that combo until last week. I didn't feel 100% comfortable in it. Your pics look good. I like the look as long as there is a big contrast between the top and bottom. My issue with it is not the fabric or style but the color combo. Same reason I wouldn't wear a green shirt with green pants. There needs to be contrast.

@mattias I don't feel 100% comfortable in it, yet i like the look because it is so anti fashion and **** YOU! + i seriously like how it looks. Indeed i am not wearing those 501's with that shirt again, but will mix denim. But in the end i think it's all about confidence.

Hope some more will post their style on this denim forum

Yes, you are correct dave, everyone should wear what they feel confident and comfortable in. You can really tell. Things look better on people when they are confident about their style.

Wish I could, but I accidentally left my Edwin denim shirt at the hotel in Japan last week :-( Maybe that's a sign. ;-)

I think it's ok if one is dark and the other is washed out, like on above pics.
One color outfit is still boring, and it's a good thing to use shoes/belt/accessories (of shirt if you wear a jacket) to bring that little touch of color that changes everything.

I like the "foto 3": fits are perfect, the jeans is nicely worn, and the blue/blue combo makes the red belt shine like a cat's yellow eyes in the night.

I wear my Flat Head denim shirt (often as a "jacket" over another shirt) with jeans all the time. It looks fine. The "double denim = bad" rule is stupid.

I'd argue the opposite. I think wearing the same material on top and bottom looks odd, but having regular jeans with a black coated jacket looks rather sharp. I also have a green-tinted jacket that I wear with jeans all the time.
