Hey everyone, decided to take a break from studying...

Very nice photos everyone.........especially the green grass...

It was a bit nostalgic pulling these out of my closet, I haven't worn em...for a long time. As you can see, I never did get around to fixing the crotch. It has blown out quite badly, I think it'll cost $50-$75 here to repair em. But I'm too preoccupied with my other jeans (I'm also thinking of joining that Pike brothers contest) to really care :-(.

But it was a good run, even though this contest had it's up's and downs. Nice to see closure to this finally...before 2012 and the end of the universe ;-)

P.S. I put in newspaper just to date it, but also because something significant happened :p.

    Verrrry nice!!!

MHP, great even wear, and nice clean blue colour, best fit too imho.

Magical; awesome fades patterns and contrast, the colour of your jeans looks a lot like mine, kinda like a grey/green cast showing through...(by the way, what kind of lens do you use? that background blur is smooth as silk!)

    Where's ever1 else? :(

Haha yeah I think it is just us :X ?
Yeah I noticed the color was weird throughout the whole fade...at first it looked....bizzare...then more blue'ish but then greycast'ish. Yeah and I did repair the jean, but unfortunately I bought the wrong freaking glue (not meant to be washed!!). So after I washed it, the patch feel off and the rip was just bigger. I just gave up after that on repairing because every tailor here wants to charge $100 approx to un-stitch + restitch the whole damn thing .

Haha thanks. Rather simple to get those shots actually, I used a simple Nikon AF-S 50mm f 1.8 prime lens. It retails for $220 USD here in Canada, you can get some wicked portrait shots (actually anything in general) with it. Speaking of lenses, I love/hate them haha, the next step up is only 0.4 F stops lower but more than double the price . I was only able to afford this by scanning two text books for this semester to save $200-300 haha... #StudentLife

I don't know if you're a photographer but (or for anyone who is interested)
    Those were shot @
    ISO 100
f 1.8 (It's what gives it the background blur)
Shutter speed: 1/4000 (lol freaking snow and sunny as hell)
    Auto white balance
    Nikon D5100 /w a 50mm prime f1.8 lens

P.S. I am going to immigrate to Australia or somewhere south or near the equator. I heard the government there was offering incentives for skilled/educated labour people to move in? You ever hear about this? I cannot take this damn weather, even though it was 6Celcius today - it drops to -25C (-35C with windchill) all the time  . Sometimes it's warmer in December than an August/September night

Both MHP and Magicalpooop have reached nice overall fadings.

Too bad crotch rip at magicalpoops pants -> soon ready to end in the Jeansmuseum? (Just if not wanted anymore and before throwing them away!!

And if too cold in Calgary, Australia would be a super great choice for you. But after 6 month of traveling around Australia it was almost too hot for me and I liked to go back to the Swiss alps again. I missed the snowy winter time.

Ah yes, as a canon user I have the 50mm f 1.8 plastic lens. Probably the closest equivalent to yours but lower overall quality, with a dodgy shaped out of focus highlights and bokeh. Its really good but not so sharp at f1.8... similarly the canon 50mm 1.4 is hard to justify the price difference for so I don't know if I will get that any time soon. I'm sure the sunny day with plenty of snow helped to shoot super fast as well...

Haha, I do remember your attempted repair on the jeans, too bad it didn't quite work out... I also got quoted a stupid amount to rebuild the crotch on mine.

I actually have not heard about this immigration incentive. What were you hoping to do in terms of work? In general you can do quite well here with our strengthening dollar and significantly higher wages (at least compared to the US, not sure about Canada) and the weather would be an extreme change for you, even somewhere with milder weather like here in Melbourne.

Yeah the 1.4 lenses are just freaking expensive for what incremental changes you get. If you have the patience, you can really quality 50mm 1.8 lenses for $120 USD if you forego the semi-auto focus. I don't know if you can stand doing manual focusing though, but my friend has one and it's insane quality. You just have to fiddle with it alot, I suppose the extra $120 on mine was for the focus motor lol.

Oh yah, well for work I'd be a new grad looking for entry work come April 2012, with a Bachelors in Commerce majoring in marketing. I figure I'll look into it after exams.
I know immigration is tough these days especially with the global economy, getting to the US is pretty hard unless you're a doctor or engineer.

So I'm looking elsewhere, or just stay put in Canada for the time-being. But hey I figure if you're young, this is the only time you can do this before you get tied down.
EDIT: I just went halfway for the visa selector from Immigration Australia. All I need is 12 months of work experience in Canada and I can get a permanent resident visa haha. It's pretty funny though, if you're an engineer or something in medicine, the form asks you to check that off. I guess engineers and doctors can get a free pass after all.

Speaking of school and Australia, my buddies on the Solar team just did this in October, the Solar car race across Australia. It's pretty hilarious, they're all sun burnt and brown as mud after a month in Australia hahaha.
