Yep. Oh well. They fit okay now. I only paid $90 for them brand new from Context, so, who cares.
Sorry for no pics recently, my camera here broke so i'll have to wait till i go home at christmas to take some.
Here are my dry japans at about 4 months. I think its time for a hot water soak because as you can see from one of the pictures they have stretched out way to much. Any tips on how i should soak them? Im planning to soak them in hot water but im not sure how. Maybe i might put my jeans in a bucket and fill it up with water? This way i won't lose much color, also how long should a soak be?
nice combs! wish mine were like that..
but.. why the hell are you showing us your underwear? my gf was a bit shocked actually..
I was thinking the same thing...
Nice fading tho!
Oh, hah, i just wanted to show how much they stretched for me and that it was time for my to soak them.
Your SJDJ turn out amazingly man.Nice job .:-o
Yeah go for a nice hot soak, hottest water from the tap. Don't 'aggitate' them too much. They should shrink up nice.
its been a while but I have some new pics of my jims! 6 months ago I started wearing these, 6 - 7 days a week at average. they were starting to smell really awfull after they got kinda soaked in beer, so I hung them my bathroom, turned on the shower at the highest temperature, and let them steam there for about an hour. for the most part it did the trick, most of the stench is gone. and as a bonus, they were feeling a lot stiffer afterwards!
how's everyone doing?
That doesn't sound like a waste of water at all!
Jeans are looking good mate. Have you thought about a wash?
well my photo taking skills are really lacking, the pics of my japans didnt turn out that well and i was way too lazy to take them again. so instead, heres some pics of the crotch repair/reinforcement
And.. Yes I do, but I probably don't do it now. I want to try to wear these some extra months before the first wash. I want more wear on the tighs, knees and combs. Maybe a soak soon, but I'm not sure what to do..
I have had some bad experiences with early washes (****ed up a RRDS a couple of years ago) so I really want to put off the first wash. Also, I have no soaking experience. I've read a lot but don't know what to do.. any thoughts?
btw.. how are yours doing?
Mine are good, I'm wearing them every day again after a break where I was wearing some of my other jeans, but I'm getting a new wallet and want to finish these before I start using it so I don't have mis-matched wallet marks.
Around April I will be putting mine through an extremely hot wash and with a cup of bleach or something, see how it goes, it could work out well, it could fail miserably! Never know. I'll keep you posted tho!
My fading is looking good tho, I did a cold wash in December because they stank.
sorry for not posting pictures recently but i currently don't have a camera. I'm heading home this weekend so i'll try to take a few when i'm there
Haven't took pictures of my jeans lately, maybe i will tomorrow. But its gonna be 6 months soon, on the 17th actually.
Its gonna be 6months of wear on the 17th. I haven't washed these yet but i did soak them in december. I think i soaked them to early, but its ok lesson learned.
The third picture looks weird for some reason, maybe i was moving while taking that picture.
those look just great! the soak didn't do any harm imo. so much better than mine.
i could think of a wash at this point, but if they don't smell really bad i'd take them a little longer for a perfect result.
Well, my crotch is blown on my Slim Jims, so I need someone to repair it so I can wear them hard for a long time
Meanwhile, I've been wearing my Thin Finn's and I've started to like these a lot too
