I know its an old topic, but do oyu know which model fits most like the rescues? I'm thinking about getting an ESOD, but IDK if the "tightness" if you know what I mean is similar. Cut is diff tho, cuz the esod tapers and the rescues are straight.

I would go with the New Cures. I have some New Standards, and while they are slim, I wouldn't call them tight...

agreed, i have NS in 27 and they are slightly looser than my SJDG in 28. looking back i wish i had gotten New Cures, which is obvious by my hardly (i haven't in months) wearing of the NS, which is a shame because they're a great pair of jeans.

i just picked up a pair of new cures today to break in on my trip to europe next week.

however, for all you NYers, APC is having a sale, and they still have some varied sizes left. the store was pretty wild this evening though and they closed early to sort it out, but get there earlier tomorrow i'd recommend.

note: denim is not on sale. also, they more sizes than listed online.

    APC Hipsters

    A few quick questions...

    1. Where can I buy these online other than denimbar? No one seems to carry this cut anymore.

    2. For those that own a pair of Hipsters and RRDS, if I am 30 in RRDS should I go with 28 in Hipster (downsizing 2) ?

    Thanks in advance.

Try Helloblackbird in Seattle. This is where I got mine from. They had an APC 30% off sale. Don't know if they are still for sale and if there are any pairs left, but you could give them a call or something. ;)

they had some in the nyc store a couple of weeks ago. i rarely see them on the website though. although i'd say their best sellers are the new cure, new standard and rescues. i wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the regular standard fit though.

    A.P.C Hipster...

So I just picked up a pair of the hipsters yesterday, and even after one day they really have streched noticibly in the waist. I'm roughly 6'4, 180lbs, and wear a 32 in the slim jims, but ended up getting a 29 in the hipster. Already I'm starting to win the battle against the button fly a lot faster than when i first tried them on. I'd also like to echo one of the first posts on this thread....these jeans look great on tall guys. the bootcut gives you a ton of options as far as shoes are concerned (try wearing boots with a tight slim jim), and you can always roll up the cuff with dunks or any sneaker to show off that nice red selvage. I also think that the apc denim is one of the stiffest around, which makes me think that they will fade really nicely. I've seen a lot of great fades here with the ralf's and dry japan jeans, but neither jean has denim that is has heavy or crisp as the A.P.C.

You obviously haven't tried on a pair of iron hearts or samurais...
Do you even own a pair of RRs? I have a pair of APC Rescues and a pair of RRDS and I would have to totally disagree with your assessment. The stiffness of the APC denim would be attributed to the starch content. Once worn for a few weeks they soften up and stretch like crazy.

well john i guess i stand corrected. I guess i went wrong in assuming that the stiffness was a direct proxy for the weight of the jean, not an indicator of the starch content. Do a.p.c's have a much higher starch content than nudies or other jeans that give them such a crisp feel? I did know to size down a bunch when i bought mine (i wear a 32 SJ, bought a 29 hipster), but i've done some digging and guess the a.p.c 12.5 oz denim isn't the heaviest around. I've tried on a bunch of RR, but never the iron hearts. what exactly is the point of using 21 oz denim? I've looked on the site of the UK/USA iron heart distributor but i wasn't blown away by the pics they have up.

Damn they only come in 34l? How much does it cost to get them hemmed, all my otehr jeans i wear a 30l, could get away with 32 cuffed, but 34 would look too weird

I seen a guy with apc's today, first time I've seen them 'live'. They look nice.
