What is Nudie Jeans?
Nudie is the "naked truth about denim". Indigo is the living color that fades and together with your lifestyle gives denim its character. The longer they live the more character they get. Besides leather, only denim has the ability to age so beautifully - formed by its user into a second skin. Jeans are a lot more than just a piece of clothing; a pair of jeans is like a second skin, naked and personal = Nudie.

Although it's been over a year (Apr 2008) since Nudie Jeans opened their outlet store at Freeport in Kungsbacka, Sweden, it was not until now I got a chance to take pictures of the place.
All my expectations came true. The store is clean and well organized, the staff is super friendly and helpful....and they have loads of denim.

Nudie Jeans Co is not noticing any effects of the slower economy. As all other exports are falling Nudie Jeans continues to grow and in March 2009 is opening a new concept store in Osaka, Japan. This is the second store Nudie Jeans opens in Japan, the first one being in Tokyo.

As already discussed in MyNudies threads, there is a new style from Nudie called Big Bengt. The design reminds of the denim worn in the 1950s and not surprisingly the name Bengt was a very popular male name back then. Big Bengt is tight in the leg opening with a wide top, high back pockets, and short yolk. It's available in Dry Heavy Italian selvage.

FW08: The coming of Bootcut Barry and the return of Flare Glenn
This is really good news. Flare Glenn was my first pair of Nudie Jeans and dearly missed by many of us here on MyNudies. Nudie Jeans is bringing Glenn back as part of their 70s "revival theme" and will start selling again for the FW08 season.

» Human Rights Collection |
This month, December 2007, Nudie retailers will start selling t-shirts from the Nudie Jeans Human Rights Collection. This has been a collaboration between Amnestiy, Nudie Jeans and each country they work with. The distributor of each country had the opportunity to choose one designer or artist to interpret one of the United Nations 30 articles found in the Declaration of Human Rights and then have it printed on Nudie Jeans tees.
