they are very highly regarded, nice denim which is 50% cotton and 50% sugarcane fibres which creates a 'slubby' look to the denim. The specialise in repros of levis 40's, 50's and 60's their originals are also cool with things such as snake patches, check out www.selfedge.com

I didn't actually know that!
They are highly regarded amongst denimheads, but if you can't get them directly out of Japan they are way overpriced imho.

yeah but then again, the same goes for Nudies in the states...
I'm getting my Oni's out of Japan and it's $235 shipped, that's a reasonable price I think :D

I have two pairs of sugarcanes. The Hawaii and the Okinawa. They are very nice jeans. The quality is amazing, the details are great as well (lined back pockets, cool as hell pocket linings, the patches made of various things).

And yes, they are really scratchy at first, and you can pull little chunks of sugarcane out of the denim, which feels like wood.

Yeah agreed that Nudies that are sold overseas are overpriced too, it has to do with availability, supply and demand, i guess that raises the price.

But on the point of Sugercanes, what is the advantage of sugercane mixed with cotton opposite to just plain 100% cotton, is it stronger and more durable?

i dont think so, it's just unique

and i'm pretty sure all sugarcane jeans aren't made with the blend, only specific models

No, it has to do with tariffs and distributors/agents.

Supply and demand GAVE YOU the possibility to buy those jeans.
