Immigration?
What is your opinion on immigration? Open up the borders? Close them off?
This is for a survey in school, so the more answers I get, I can have a more realistic statistic. Thanks edit: i realize the second poll choice is redundant as most people who would allow illegal immigration would also allow legal immigration. |

I say keep it just as it is so we all get the satisfaction of watching this utilitarian society crumble.

Let the illegal immigrants sit out at sea until they sink.
I hate all the people who say, let them in they had a hard life etc. My parents came the legal way during a massacre. If they can do it, so can they. Though even legal intake annoys me sometimes. I can rant on heaps about the recent intake of sudanese refugees in australia but i wont.

I voted to allow legal immigrants. Think of the cost to your nation's economy if you suddenly opened your borders to millions of illegal (non tax paying) immigrants, who will work for pennies on the dollar. For those of you with gov't subsidized healthcare, think of what will happen to your healthcare system when it is now accounting for these extra people. How long would your dad have to wait for a kidney transplant then? Your taxes would have nowhere to go but up when your hospitals, schools, and other government programs suddenly have more people utilizing them, but with the same fixed number of people paying taxes to keep them going. Like a relationship, being a citizen of a country is give and take. Illegals only take. Put forth the minimal effort and get a work/resident visa, pay taxes, take steps like you actually want to be proactive about making a better life for you and your family.
Lol, that's all. ETA: I've been thinking of more gov't services that would suffer under strain of more people: Police, Fire Department, Paramedics, Public schools, Garbage pick-up (I'm sure I'm leaving out tons more). I want to know why some people seem to think that because someone has had a hard life that they aren't expected to work for what they get anymore. Getting to the country of your choice doesn't mean that you no longer have to contribute to society, It means that you can enjoy a higher standard of living, make more money (yes, pay higher taxes but that's how we pay for these services), and that no guerilla paramilitary group will excecute your village in the night.. its terrible in britain. personally i dont agree with letting them in.........but for me to say that it kind of goes with what happened yesterday in london with the bnp. does this mean im a nazi?....no it doesnt. i just dont want illegals in my country working for peanuts, so employers lay off true british citizens who have worked all their life, and cannot get a job anymore because an illegal is doing it cheaper and not paying tax......sure if you was an employer you would want the cheapest labour, but its just not the jobs. they fvck up everything.

fact: the stinkiest gets the most flies. solution: stink up the globe, equally. translation: banning as an immigration solution is as temporary as the proverbial "Dutch boy and the leaking dike", where the boy saved his country from flooding by sticking his finger into the hole of a leaking dike. recent economic downfall has proven that domestic economic woes [in US] can create a catastrophic global ripple effect in a 'tsunami' proportion. world leaders need to seriously recognize "globalization" and the karmic consequences of bad decisions. the world needs a fair and more even distribution/dispensation of wealth. it's utopian, but [really] you're up against human's primal instinct to survive that goes way back to "Out Of Africa".... that's if you subscribe to that train of thinking.
