Today is a good day for posting some background about me and this site.

I got my first pair of Nudie Jeans in the summer of 2003 when visiting my family in good ol' Göteborg, Sweden. It was actually from the store Moms.....to my knowledge one of the few places that sold Nudie Jeans back then. My first pair was a pre-wash Flare Glenn. I think the wash was called Super Used or something like that......the very common heavy faded indigo. Did those Flare Glenn have a great butt or what. I quickly picked up my second pair FG Blue Black. Just before leaving Sweden I picked up my first dry pair.....RRDS. At that time, I didn't realize how much I would be into dry denim. To me, it was just interesting to have a pair of jeans that no one had "touched" yet. It felt like it came directly from the sewing machine.

I went back to the US but talked to my friends and family in Sweden on a weekly basis. They were all talking about how Nudie Jeans and their "don't wash" sales pitch. My friends had a lot of questions and so did I. Since so many of us were spread out all over the world there needed to be a place online where these discussions and Q&A could be held and archived. Since I had just got into the whole internet boom why not just start a website.

MyNudies.com was my first website. It first went live in December 2003. It took about two months to get the first 10 members. People thought I was nuts. Who would visit a website that only focuses on one brand......and a brand that pretty much only sold in a couple of countries?

10 months after going live we had 100 members. Not very fast growth but I knew it would eventually take off and these first members were very important to me and MyNudies.

Around the shift of 2004/2005 members started emailing me asking where to find Nudie Jeans in the US. Small groups of Americans had finally heard of Nudie Jeans and were eager to find them locally. With only two stores (no online) carrying them in the US something had to be done. I started researching the possibility of using MyNudies as a launch pad for a US online retail store. The idea of FOS5 was born. The business and relationship with the US distributor was established in early March 2005 and in August 2005 we sold our first pair of jeans.....not surprisingly a pair of RRDS. It was a big pleasure to run FOS5 for two years before handing it over to the guys at Context, who had the resources to take the company to the next level.


So here we are now, about to break the 5000 members mark. MyNudies has not only grown into an awesome Nudie Jeans "online mecka" but also a very pleasant community for anyone with a passion for dry denim. Nudie Jeans is still the main topic but through our diverse community, the topics now include most dry denim brands on the market.

I owe it all to you, our loyal members, who pour so much of your denim passion and knowledge into this community. Without you this site would be nothing. I can't thank you enough!
