1. The National - Boxer
this album is beautiful and intense and moving and fresh and dark and warm. Racing Like a Pro is my favorite song of the year.

2. St. Vincent - Marry Me
Musical genius Annie Clark creates some incredible arrangements with jazz, gospel and indie and still keeps it catchy. Not to mention the most exhilarating live show I've ever seen.

3. Radiohead - In Rainbows
As everyone is saying this is the most accessible Radiohead album but still some excellent songwriting and the perfect return from these guys. All I need and Videotape couldn't be better.

4. Beirut - The Flying Club Cup
I have only had this album for a week and have listened to it dozens of times. Refreshing Baltic/latin influenced indie pop with incredible layered vocals and trumpet from Mr. Zac Codon. This album made me so happy.

5. John Vanderslice - Emerald City
One of my favorite musicians of all time and his new one changed it up just a bit but has some really great songs on here. Tablespoon of Codine.

6. Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
Different from Ghost is Born but Nels really brightens this album.

7. Andrew BIrd - Armchair Apocrypha

8. Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer

9. Sondre Lerche - Phantom Punch
insane jazzy guitar and refreshing arrangements.

10. The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Jack White's vocals on the title track and driving quarter notes make this album.

11. Rogue Wave - Asleep at Heaven's Gate

12. Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
Such a change in style from their last album and this band really learned how to groove.

13. Sigur Ros - Hvarf/Heim
One of my all time favorite bands and these B sides are incredible songs as always. Heima was an incredible film as well.

14. The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
This band just has such a unique sound they couldn't make an album that wasn't interesting although it didn't live up to Funeral.

15. Blonde Redhead - 23

16. Dr. Dog - We all Belong
This will be your favorite 70's throwback rock band because they put such a great new twist on the classic rock sound.

17. Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
At first I wasn't a fan of this but Connor's pure country sound yet really grows on you.

18. Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
I feel bad about putting Spoon this late in the list but I just can't say they impressed me much with this album. Though it still is great catchy indie pop.

19. Dntel - Dumb Luck
I love Dntel's dark catchy electronica and some great collaborations on this disc.

20. Bjork - Volta
As usual Bjork's hits us with a new spin on her style and it works pretty well. Some great unique beats on this album with songs like Innocence. Only issue is this album just didn't grab me like Homogenic or Vespertine. She is still an incredible individual.

And finally something new!
(This will piss off quite a few people)

Top 5 Disappointing Shitfest albums of 2007

1. M.I.A - Kala
I've seen this on many top albums 07 but I just feel like it is an annoying collection of sound fx and dumb arrangements. I love M.I.A for always doing her own thing and taking her genre of music to a new level but I feel it might have gone to far this time around.

2. Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly, Angry Mob
I really like their song "Everyday I love you less and less" but this album was just poor. I didn't expect much from them and this album met those expectations. Boring, Annoying Brit indie punk.

3. Stars - In the Bedroom After the War
I know you will be pissed this is here but I can't enjoy this album. Too many boring bass riff driven songs and no where near Set Yourself on fire. It was such a let down and while you may say it is still a good album, I can't enjoy it. What happened to lines like "20 years of sleep before we sleep, forever." Instead we have cliche songs about personal dating adds. Sorry.

4. Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
I don't really like this band and they made the same album twice. Boring Brit punk end of story. The Brits seem to love them as well as millions of other people putting them high on lists. Just some kids with guitars folks. I didn't give it many listens but I don't really want to.

5. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder
I liked the first one but this one hardly gets my attention. They try to be far out and they go to far making some kind of gross music. I don't think I like his voice anymore either.

Not to say those are they worst albums of 2007 but they were the most disappointing.

Thank you for reading.
