I have been seeing people purchased items online excited only to find them questioning if the items are legit. I am starting a thread for people to discuss the legitimacy of different products and compile the information here. Do provide this thread with useful information to discern the differences.

1) Laurel Embroidery
The real one has neat stitching for its laurel. The 30 leaves laurel is reserved for limited editions and collaborations.

2) Label
The label behind the neck is usually blue for most models.

3) Buttons
Fred Perry polo t-shirts usually have 2 buttons and the colour of the 2 buttons are usually the same as the base colour of the polo t-shirt. There is an exception for the made in Japan. The models that are made in Japan have 3 buttons and are of different color to the polo t-shirt.

4) Reference Number
The reference number of the washing label shall have a spare button, where it’s made from, the model number and the button colour code.

The information here is taught by a good friend of mine and I have did some research on my own (http://reviews.ebay.ie/4-steps-to-sp...00000006671178 & http://reviews.ebay.com/Fake-Fred-Pe...00000004006810). I hope the information will be useful to you.

I wanted to compile one for Nudie Jeans Co. but most of the information could be found in this forum. However, many still ask questions regarding the legitimacy of their purchase. Anyway, these are what I look out for to determine the legitimacy of the jeans. This is just a rough overview if much detailed information can be compiled, that would be much appreciated.

Back leather patch

Inner denim patch (though mine seems to be missing for my Slim Jim Dry Black Coated and Thin Finn Dry Black Coated even though I got them from Cultizm)

Printing on the inner pocket

Stitching on back pockets (placement, colour and stitching pattern should be precise)

Rivets & buttons (should have Nudie Jeans Co. embossed upon it)

Zipper (YKK)

Chainstitching on the hem

Thanks lemmy, I do not know why the links just won't load in full, so the links I posted above lead to some nonsensical website. Anyway, to summarize, it says that it usually comes in blue. It's said that the genuine green label are before the nineties. Those that I found in online shops are blue.
Also, if anyone have anymore information that I have missed out or have mistaken. Do post a corrected version, thank you.

Check for faulty stitching on the leather patch.

Do note that the fake has been chainstitched and has a selvage line too.

This is a variation of the fake reproduction of Levi's Vintage Clothing jeans that I found. The fake pictures are from www.superfuture.com (http://www.superfuture.com) and the real red tab is from lilldavid's photo gallery.

the fred perry lettering on the buttons is embossed on real shirts, while on fakes it´s printed mostly.

Thanks for your good work. And btw:

Not all Nudies got this inner denim patch (from my collection I only got 1 or 2 pairs with this patch. I've got 9 from my 11 pairs from a Nudie wholesaler. Other points to add is maybe sizing and shape of the back pockets and the fat beltloops (except LAB's and MASA).

Indeed, they not only look good, the feel/quality (nice and stiff selvage denim) and price is good too. Though I don't own a pair, I have personally felt some last year in Bangkok.

^Even if the touch nice, look nice, fade nice or whatever: they're fakes and they'll ever be. Poor and sucking anyway.

No problem, just trying to bring awareness to the users here so that they might not be scammed or perhaps, the counterfeiter to produce a better replica. :-D

Thanks guys, for the information I have missed out. Feel free to add on any valid information that's missing or new information from other products. :-D

What you said is very true and I agree with you. I wouldn't like to own any fake products now as it's usually of poorer quality and to prevent the humiliation of people poking fun when they realized it's fake. But I may consider owning a pair in the future just for fun's sake.

But you're right on the leather patch ;-)
I don't think they even tried to make a good fake...look at the exposed selvage coin pocket. None LVC has this AFAIK
