Okay or too tight? Just curious... like so many others... what do you observe?

I gained some weight since I bought them last years (which in itself is quite okay) and they now fit tighter than the wetsuit I wear for wind surfing I guess :-|... still comfortable enough, though - I just like them too much :-)

way too tight

bang
25th February 2008, 02:54
For me, too tight. But that's just my taste and it's hardly as if nobody else runs them that tight.

Also, again my taste, I don't think they go with big bright sneakers at all. Low profile, super simple shoes only for me. But again, lots are running skinny black jeans - big sneakers. To me it's punk rock and basketball mixed, not my taste.

25th February 2008, 04:42
you'll see a good bit of stretch not only in the waist but also the thighs and calves, I know my thins were very snug on my calves when new, but now they are just fitted on there nicely

For me, too tight. But that's just my taste and it's hardly as if nobody else runs them that tight.Point is that they fit well in the waist... they sag (and I like that). I guess it's my anatomy. If I would buy them larger they would most definitely sit very loose in the waist... I would pretty much loose them...

Also, again my taste, I don't think they go with big bright sneakers at all. Low profile, super simple shoes only for me. But again, lots are running skinny black jeans - big sneakers. To me it's punk rock and basketball mixed, not my taste.I myself kinda like mixing styles and make my own (weird) combinations. No emo, no skate, no ... whatever...

By the way... can anyone advice me on Vans slip-ons sizing?

I don't have them yet and would like to order some on-line. I wear my dunks in Euro 44 / US 10.0 / 28.0 cm (according to label). And I wear my chucks in Euro 44 / US 10.0 / 28.5 cm (label as well).
My Converse Allstars provide more room than my Nike Dunks. I like the dunks' fit best, the chucks are somewhat roomy (it may be because of the 0.5 cm difference).

Regular Vans (non-slip-ons) fit me well in Euro size 44. But should I size down with the slip ons? And what is the corresponding US size (this seems to differ from one brand to another).

Thanks...

i have both "slip-on's" and "non slip=on's" and both are the same size(eur. size 43/us.size 10).
so no need to size down, i guess.

Great fit on your tfdbc! Nudie could use your look in its catalogue. Wearing your finns tight seems to me the way they were designed to fit a slim guy. ps--I like the shoes--gives some colour with your black clothes.

Oh..I also agree with not keeping that stuff in your front pockets. A tight fit looks best without stuffing the pockets with things that spoil the fit.

good fit, but i agree about the hightops. i wear hightops with my tighter jeans but my pants fit over both my pairs of shoes. definitely a better look imo.

Agreed, JBest. The Creative Rec hitops are a perfect silhouette for slim fits.

Eventually the Finns will stretch out, as has been mentioned above, even though they have a bit of elastine in them.. When they do stretch, they'll look absolutely fantastic.. There's nothing sadder than seeing someone who'd be perfect in a regulation pair of Finns but who got a size up believing they were too tight in the store.

And yeah, get that junk out of your pockets.

Put 'em up for sale in the market place--they are usually popular and then buy yourself another size. It's always easy to make mistakes buying jeans and wanting a perfect fit.

i just bought a pair of TFDBC and they started fading right away, i only tried them on 2 or 3 times so far, havent really been wearing them yet, but after just trying them on there already was little fading on the whiskers, the honeycombs and on the stacking crinkles.

anyone else experienced this fast fading on their TFDBC? They have the black leather nudie patch by the way.

The fit feels still okay. It's only that this fit was initially was not my intention, when I bought them over a year ago. I gained some weight and this is the result. I actually still like them, but was quite curious to know what other people think of 'm. I know that most people don't wear their jeans this tight...

No, they still look great on you--and I like the contrasting colour of the shoes. I remember when you posted photos when you first bought them--you were wearing them low and that was a cool fit too. I think TFs look best when they are worn tight; this is how they were designed to be worn with the super slim legs. Many people on this forum who submit photos wear them quite tight, myself included.

This may be just me, but the whole thick shoes, skinny jeans combination has never looked good as far as I'm concerned. It kind of lends to the whole Punk/Thrash thing, skinny jeans tucked into High Tops, idk if thats what your going for. However, If you really just want to wear nike, theres plenty of decent shoes. Vengence, Maybe an Air Max 1, Low top blazers or pretty much anything from the vintage collection.

As for the jeans, they fit pretty well. In fact I bought the same pair, i'll see how they look when they arrive.

I like the punk look for skinny jeans. I wear old school Vans slip ons. Love the way they look, I think shoes will match depending on the persons look and their perspective scene like I guess you could say I have more of a punk look, same goes for 80's people and so on.

Howdy denim freaks, first time poster but have viewed this site many times. Currently running on 4 pairs of Nudies but am currently primarily focussed on breaking in my Grim Tim DDOs. It will be worth the time and well there's not much effort as i love how they feel and wear them every day. I have also picked up a pair of Thin Finns Dry Black Coated jeans recently and i was just wondering if anyone could direct me to some pics of how the dry black coated jeans fade? I realise Thin Finn is a relatively new cut so obviously nothing ripe out there yet for viewing.

Okay, toodle-pip, many thanks. :-)

I'd say that was a mix up of expressions?

But anyway, the reason you wont see many worn in TF in dry black coated is because after a couple of months, thats pretty much as worn in as they get. I wore mine for ages really hard and washed them after a year now they are black jeans. nothing to see!

Thanks superslim_zac, that pretty much answers my question (well now i have a fairly good mental picture anyway!) Not being an afficianado supreme when it comes to denim i wasn't 100% sure how time and wear would affect the dry coat. If my remarks about the Thin Finn being a "relatively" new cut caused some handwringing and pomposity then so be it. Mea culpa. If they were tongue in cheek, gentle nudge on the shoulder remarks then that's cool and sorry for taking them the wrong way. Tone is something that never comes across too accurately on posts. ;-)

I reckon i'll just wear 'em until they develop so much bacteria that they become a thinking, cogniscent life-form of their own and wash themselves of their own accord! I never really much thought of being a skinny(ish) jeans man but i got a pair of Bootcut Barry and i liked them, then i got the Grim Tims....(you can see a pattern developing here) and now my Thin Finns. I have a question on the tfdbc here. Heard from elsewhere that dbc series are not meant for everydays' usage unlike the other indigo ones as the shine will fade away too fast if worn everyday. How true is that? Can someone bust the myth and lay the facts? Thanks man.

I think just the more you wear it without washing the shinier it gets (to a point) and then once you wash it the shine is gone forever.

I don't wear mine (tfdbc) as hard as my other jeans. I've had them a long while now and they are still unwashed, as I want to keep the shine as long as possible. So, yes, I only wear them when I think they are not going to get really dirty or sweaty. Plan is to keep the shine!

i am between 31-32 in the waist and i got 31s in the TF DBC and the waist is sorta loose and the ass is a bit baggy but in the 30s the thighs look like they were painted on which i didnt like (tho the waist was ok). just worried they might stretch out too much. what do you guys think?

sunpup
13th October 2008, 20:42
spacemanvt: Yes, the thighs in tfdbc are tight to the skin, so you had to get the bigger waist size if you did not want the tight thigh. I wouldn't worry too much about stretching them out too much unless you are very active while wearing the jeans. I have tfdbc for well over a year and I never had them stretch out too much even though I have never yet washed them.

I'm 188 cm (6'2"). The last time I checked I was some 73 kg (some 160 lbs). I think I might have bougth a waist size 30 instead of 29. I definitely need inseam 34. 32 would be too short, without doubt.

I figured instead of opening a new thread, I'd post my pictures in here since I'd like some feedback on fit too. I hope that's ok!

I've had these since about march but have only worn them for maybe 10 or so days, so they still have that matte look that they come with brand-new. I need to get them on more often :)

fit looks ok NOLA, they look like how mine fit, im 6.3 and i have a 32 lenth and i seem to get loads of stacking like you, maybe cos i wear um quite low.
how do you like the shine on them? im kinda dissapointed with mine, they dont seem to be getting very shiny. they remind me of a pair of polyester school trousers that i used 2 wear. i guess the more you slide around on your knees the more shine they get?
obviously not like them hipflare carrots you love what i posted in the other thread:lol:

Yessss!8-) Please nudie, please come out with a cut equivalent to MC Hammer's church trousers!!

My TFs have only just begun to develop the subtlest shinyness on the ass and on the knees as of yet, though I only get to wear them after work or on weekends so I can't really complain about them just yet;-)

NOLA, ive worn mine for about 40 days total, and im really dissapointed with them:(....ok, i love the fit, but they dont seem 2 be getting any shinnier. i think i should have brought the doir ones :-?...... as for the mc hammer pants i think the bengts would probably turn me into mr hammer time :-P

the only coated jeans i have are a pair of black coated jims but theyve hardly gotten any wear since i got them, got them a bit big so theyre a bit too loose for my liking and only get worn when i really need to wear black pants which is hardly ever

blosom
9th December 2009, 13:57
^^ i think you should post some pics of yours;-)...im sure there would be much love,....i havnt started wearing my ttuic yet, but i find with the dbc water of any kind is a bad idea....i can still see lots of 'spash' marks on mine around a certain area:-x.....i dont know about the ultras though?...i supose they are different in a way cos they actually fade, i wouldnt go out in the rain in my dbc, i would wear some indigos, but it becomes a pain keep changing jeans according to the weather.........either ruin the coateds in the rain,.....or ruin your shoes with indigo stains.....

ThinFinn
9th December 2009, 14:06
^well then i would def. ruin my shoes with indigo stains. looks dope on some 875's anyway ;-)
even if i got no dbc and just an dgc i would like to know if the coating would get losed after soak/wash?

my dgc haven't got much wear on them (guess some like max.1 month) !

same like the black ones except they're grey :p

well what to do if they are starting to smell bad?

blosom
9th December 2009, 14:32
what i do with mine is when im not wearing them i hang them in the shed for a airing......from what ive seen soaking is gonna take the shine away, but not as much as a wash...dry cleaning might be a good idea, thats what im gonna do with mine when they get to that stage, i think its good to wash the ultras, but the greys and blacks i dont think its such a good idea.....you just have to do everything possible to prolong the soak/wash....or just buy a new pair:p.....or wash, but i dont think i would want to wear them afterwards....:-?

ThinFinn
9th December 2009, 14:53

22nd December 2009, 19:53
^ ahhhh the shine :-D.....im sure nudie said they get a 'leathery sheen' which is what i would call it, ive worn my for about 2.5 months now, and they have got really smooth, and a nice sheen, also when you look at a photo of them they look real shinny.....ive just started to break in my ttuic today :-D

nudie-v2
22nd December 2009, 23:42
Yeah i think this is a verry nice jean! I love the fit and the shine thing is great,
i think i want some other dry from TF maybe sugesstions?:)

:blossom: do you have pics. From you ultra indigo coated?

blosom
22nd December 2009, 23:50
haha, no i dont have any pics of my ttuic....ive only wore them from new for 2 nights now....i was meant to be saving them, but i thought id treat myself and start wearing them......if you want another finn there are lots of choices, i have a dry stretch kim, i had a finn too, which is the dry indigo one....its a nice jean, but the stretch denim takes a long time to break in and get fades imo, which isnt a bad thing, its just some people want to see progress in 2 months or so......i really wanted to get a selvage finn, but they were a cultizm exclusive, and they are all gone now.:-x.....my favorite finn has to be the ultra indigo coated though.....not just cos im wearing them, but they are discontinued now, and you get the best of both worlds with them, shine and fade!!!:-P. i really love my black coateds too though, there is a pic of mine on page 12 of this thread....

:Blosom: you could not wait to wear your TFUIC? haha
I know the problem! i now wear a Average joe dry dirt oragnic for a few weeks day after day and they are starting to get beautiful i like them but the fit is al little to loose around the waist.
I like the fit from the TF i've got them ultra skinny.
I also like the TLJ but what do you think about the TFODEE? i've got a slim jim in it.

blosom
23rd December 2009, 15:55
yep, i really like the ttodee, i think it looks real nice when worn and not washed for about 1 year +....ive never owned a pair, but ive seen some real nice ones in the threads, also the jim organic one. its meant to be a slow fader, but rome wasnt built in a day. also you will find with your ttdbc they will really stretch out after 3 weeks of hard wear or so. i really like my ttdbc now they have stretched, and they have a real nice dull greasy smooth shine to them :-P.....youll have to put some pics up if you havnt already done so...

nudie-v2
23rd December 2009, 17:07
:BLOSOM:

Yeah i have them in slim jim they are verry nice, but i like the TF fit more. first i tried a 29 but that one whas to comfortable around the waist, now i have a 28, maybe i fitted a 27 but then they are real tight around the waist, i fitt them just like the nudie fit guide around the waist but more skinny around the calfs, yes a shall post some pics. next week when i have my camera back:P

with the coated thins they do run rather large. my true waist is 32" where i wear my jeans. i got my ttdbc in a 30". now they are really stretched out, but i still like them. for my ttuic i got a 29" which is 3 sizes down from my waist. they are not uncomfortable in the waist, i would say they are a perfect tight fit, and will be just right when stretched out.....i would also say i have very skinny legs, so my advice would be to size down 2 on the coateds, or 3 if you are very skinny and you want a tighter fit :p.....hope that helps?

yeah this helps but 28 is verry tight around my leggs almost TLJ so i would'nt fit tighter. I must pull to get them of my leggs:p but i'm also skinny
but i like some little baggier fit around the waist but they fit comfortable around the waist not to loose not to thight. You think that's good for this jean? For the strechts thing?

blosom
27th December 2009, 13:36
ummmmmm, i think you should put some pics up maybe? by the sounds of things they sound fine......my ttuic in 29 when i first put them on they were like a pair of leggings, and i wouldnt leave the house wearing them.....but i know how much the coateds stretch, and my size 30s are real baggy now, so i know my 29s are going to be perfect when fully stretched......ive wore them for 3 days now and they have already stretched to the point that i would go out in them...
but yep, i dont think thins should be skin tight, and your fit sounds good,....now lets have a look :p

nudie-v2

27th December 2009, 20:18
^ its just the coateds that really stretch, of all nudies i think they stretch the most.......theres not much you can do about it no, but its not a bad thing, you just have to get another size down if you want them to fit tight after they have stretched.:p

Hello, I bought the Black Coated at size 32-32 and i think i should have bought one size smaller. I only wore it 4 times. Any advice on how to "shrink" it a little bit? Maybe wash it? (will i "kill" it if i do that?) I cannot afford to get another one for the time being so any advice would be valuable for me. The funny thing is that my organic dry thin finn's which are the same size fit as a glove!!!
I am really very upset with this matter...i paid a fortune for both jeans and now my favourite colour needs to be sized down :-( Heeeeeeeellppppppppp

Shall i take it to the taylor instead of washing it????
