lets see yer belts! looking for a nice belt to go with my new (upcoming) SSDS nudies. im not really a brown-wearing kinda guy, so probably black or dark burgundy. hoping to get something a bit different, not just straight black.

saw the ALD belts. im diggin a lot of the nixon belts (http://www.nixonnow.com/softgoods/mens/belts/), like the hollis, canton, fat lip, unit constituent, and maybe the paisley and baja. LOVE this lucien pellat finet belt (http://diabro.net/product_info.php/products_id/6379), will probably spring for one at some point. saw a ride enameled belt, an urban outfitters painted studded belt, and a ted baker belt that looked like a prada one but was 1/3 the price.

any other suggestions, lets see yours! :mrgreen:

p.s. i SWEAR i did a search before posting this. but flame on if i deserve it...

I'll serve as the first line of defense should a flaming come your way, I dig the idea, and I have yet to see a precursor.

My Favorite belt, on the job.

My favorite belt, coiled, at rest.

It's just about the only belt I wear, with reason. All factors considered, it is mighty efficient at its job. :mrgreen:

looks nice, i like that kinda contrast, although personally im going for a more dark burgundy-ish. im hoping a nice leather belt will break in and age right along with my nudies, together as a cohesive unit

That's a sound plan. However, you can find very nice belts pretty much anywhere without being too brand conscious. The one pictured is from target, and is of impressive quality. They had a few in stock in the color you are talking about.

the belts I use at this time:
ALD saddle leather belt in light brown and full grain belt, I've got a natural colored saddle leather belt in pre-order with samurai also, if you like the aging process, natural saddle leather is the way to go, tho my saddle leather ALD belt aged nicely also up to this point...

sorry for not flaming you because you made this thread instead of using an existing one, I know you ain't really part of the 'family' untill you got flamed by me, but I was bored, so this thread kept me busy a few minutes... :evil::mrgreen:

anyhow, don't worry too much about belts...

I've always been hesitant about having a belt that's of a lighter tone, like that or the ALD full grain. I just can't get past that the indigo rubs onto them, and they end up looking dirty to my eyes.

I get your point, but if you look at sufu's aging of leather products thread, you can actually see alot of belts that aged nicely and they have no indigo stains on them except on the inside... ;-)

i really like how the indigo transfers onto my belts
like both my belts are white leather, and the inside of them is blue it has a really intereasting look

so i tried a bunch of belts. mostly from dogfunk.com. tried the nixon hollis, nixon icon enamel, and oakley distressed. all pretty meh. then i got the nixon woven belt from peterglenn.com and it rocked. and its half the price of the others. so thats the winner for me...

Pretty nice looking belts there. The site has a nice looking black denim jacket for those who might be interested.

This is a custom belt I recently got from leathergoodsconnection.com. I got a bad-ass cowboy wallet too.

Glad you like it. Henry, the dude that made it, has been making leather goods since the early 70s. This is the best belt I've ever owned and it's not even close.

Here's the options I picked (from my confirmation email):

B = #3
C = Nickel
D = 36
E = No Keeper is used on a center

above menu, do you want the Tongue
Slot?
G = If you chose No Buckle, do you
want a Keeper Loop
H = NO Basket Weave
I = Yes Inca design (+$8.00)
J = NO Double grooves
L = Traditional Lettering
M = Other colors are available, but
not returnable
N = Natural Back
O = No stitching
P = Up to 12 Inscription Letters
(+$6.00)
Q = Belts up to 44 inch center hole
length
R U Sure you've chosen the correct
center hole length? = Yes I

yeah it's comfortable, maybe it wouldn't be if it wasn't curved already tho, don't know...
I only used it in my dj-501xx at this point and no problem with beltloops yet :mrgreen:
tho since the frontpockets of the dj-501xx are already hard to access, the belt doesn't improve on that, that I can tell you...

That buckle looks heavy enough to crack a skull as well.

I think it actually is, that belt is my new self-defense weapon, who needs a knife or gun when you got a samurai belt :lol:

I think fairly wide and thick belts with a bold buckle look best on jeans. The colour depends on the rest of one's clothing, but white looks great on dark blue denim. Nice belts unfortunately are bloody expensive, so I wondered if anyone experimented with making his own.
