View Full Version : Like Denim Heads have to look like...

Epilogue
28th May 2007, 17:25
Well, take this topic with a grant of salt (as of course everyone has to be individual and has to run like he wants himself to, if you more like the smooth glitter boobie fashion victim world, well fine, it's up to you. I don't want to tell someone how he has to be. More variety brings a more colourful world), hehe, but in my opinion real denim freaks like me have to be raw like the jeans itself:

Take an exmaple on these swedish guys! Hehe. No glitter, no stupid dolce and gab crap, no Ed Hardy ugliness, hehe. Only long hair, rock attitude, tattos. Well it's only my opionion, so don't take it too hard. I just do like the style of these guys, they are not so dandy like, like many other denim blogs I see around on the web, where I see glamour shit and so on. Be more rock and have more rawness, like your jeans! "Rock on dudes" like Bill and Ted would have said it (insider for the peoplel who know the film).

All the pics were taken from http://repeattofade.blogspot.com/
There you also can see more of them. I Like the blog, it has much usefull information for japenese brands. Thanks to the creator of the blog, if you should read this here.

You´re damn right Epilogue, Denim has really got something to do with Rock´n`Roll and oh my god, Yes, lets forget that crappy ed hardy stuff, you can buy the same stuff for less money at New Yorker ;) german people now what I mean! Denim should be attitude, not fashion!

Well I hope noone is offended, of course jeans will always be a part of fashion somehow and I don't want to discuss this again (we had it 1000 times) but just freak in your jeans and don't handle them too smoth, don't watch over to the glamour world, in my opinion it doesn't really fit together, paris hilton glamour and raw jeans. Now I will put on Iron Maiden and rock in my 1 year old RRDS, hehe.

Yeah that was a cool party! 50% off on a lot of LVC, Blue bell and Lee repros.

I got myself a bit tipsy and bought the LVC 1886 and the Blue bell 11MJ jacket from 1949... 8)

Epilogue
28th May 2007, 19:29
You lucky guys. Here in Germany we have only shops with sellers who look and behave like the boyfriends of Paris Hilton, hehe. They sell raw jeans because it's trendy are because they are expensive, not because they love raw denim. When I come in and look at the jeans in metal shirts they look at me like I would have not enough money for buying their jeans. 7 for all mankind and all this crap poisoned it all, hehe.

Noone said you have to listen to rock (though rock and jazz rule the music world :p) but have a rock attitude. That are two different things. So listen to whatever you want dude. ;) What I rather meant is, that raw jeans and this stupid plastic GLAMOUR world of brands like Dolce, Lagerfeld, Dior and all the other shitty brands, don't fit together (but even this is my personal taste and not a dogma which refers to all people). Hope now you understand it better. :)

I dunno, epi, but the photos you posted seem to show a lot of guys who are wearing jeans not particularly well-fitting, and I don't mean tight or any other thing--just not well fitting. You can wear jeans in all kinds of ways and look good, but this group seemed not to care how they looked.

If this is the standard for wearing jeans "properly" then count me out---the guys who display styles here on mynudies do a much much better job.

Actually, if certain brands or certain styles or certain ways of wearing jeans are "wrong" then the whole freedom concept of wearing denim is sacrificed and lost to just another way of following the crowd.

I have a d&g pair of jeans in my collection, and I happen to like it--just like I enjoy my nudies, levis, diesel, armani exchange, etc. etc. I buy what I like and how it fits, not because it is a "proper" or "accepted" brand or style.

Wearing denim is all about freedom, not following a certain crowd.

actually, I like that whole anti fit style...
like the guy with the 1928 Lee 101B,

anybody know what jeans the same guy is wearing in the second pic he's on? he's got style...

I might wanna look for a 1928 Lee 101B I think...

It's not about how you wear it, but what you make of yourself. I just don't like this clean D&G behaviour and will never like it. It fits to Paris Hilton and Co. and I don't want to belong to this decadent world.

I don't understand epi's association with certain things.
Wear and buy what you like, not because of what someone else feels is an improper "association"

Long live Denim Freedom!!!! 8)

I do so because of the arrogant designers. I just don't buy things from unpolite people, hehe. But as I said, that's just my personal taste, nothing that I would really freak about if others wear it. I know that there are very great people wearing such brands out there.

Sure everyone can wear their jeans the way they like them, you just have to create your own style.
If you do that, it will make you look good, because you are yourself.

I like it that there are so many different styles to be seen over here on mynudies.
Personally i fully understand what Epi means, cause i like the whole rough antifit look too, not a too clean look.

And it can depend on mood or occasion if you want or have to adjust your style, f.e. to work you might be forced to dress more 'clean'.

I really enjoyed the pics, looks like it was a good party.

I'm totally getting your point M!ch and I agree, what I like alot tho, is mixing up that antifit rough look with clean elements when you have to go somewhere that requires a more dressy look, like on NYE, I put on my BBOS, a black shirt with white pinstripe, a black suit vest and black and white lacoste classic tennisshoes...

stil that 28 Lee 101B is so sick...

They do sell the jeans but they dont have an online shop. Theyre expensive here. I paid 2300 SEK which is about 243 EURO. Had I known better I would have got help from HorriblyJollyJinx to get these shipped from Japan. In japan they retail at 18900 Yen = 116 EURO. Oh well, F*ck it, I still love 'em

Tiro, I bought the Lee 1928 101b hair on hide at The Globe, Arnhem some years back. I'm not sure if they still carry 'em. Unfortunately I had to sell mine because they proved too big in the end. Let me tell you they run hella big.

Tiro
11th June 2007, 20:58
the 1928 101B in the pic doesn't look like a hair on hide...
anyway, big running jeans is my thing, slim fits ain't, so....

but I might have to put this idea on ice for some time, too much denim to break in already... (maybe in 2008 tho)

Hi Guy's

A few day's ago, I went to the Lee store in Amsterdam and surprisingly they had some original reproduction LEE's. They also had one with the Leater Patch on the left side( Like the one we spoke about earlier this threat)

My question is where can you see in a lee jean from wich year the jean is from????? Please help me out.

These jeans where Cool I needed to size down by 2 sizes, cowboy style.

They where not selvage thoug. I asked them to see if they could order the 1928 101B

Thanks alot< :D

Tiro

I think the patch is on the left side on jeans that are older then 1936, atleast I seem to remember reading that somewhere...

what did they tell you bout the 1928 101B? would they be able to get those?

Julien
17th June 2007, 16:07
not sure yet. they would try thoug.

I went to the Lee store in Antwerpen and Amsterdam. But the guy in antwerpen was not so intrested but the guy in amsterdam was, I think he Will try to find it. I can't found who the (Importeur) is, otherwise I would calle them.

I'll let you know

Patch on the left side is on the 1928's They are cut away selvage. still a high quality selvage fabric but with triple stitch on both the in and out seam. if you want to know which models are which year look at http://lee-japan.jp under the real vintage bar.
