Because i really really want a redmoon CW02A(sd). I had to try a long wallet in my back pocket for a couple of weeks. So i bought a cheap skai wallet. And i found a nice leather chain for 6 euro's on waterloo in amsterdam. I have ordered my redmoon today
You can see the leather chain has taken on some indigo from my jeans.

This is my leather agenda made by Succes agenda. its like a filofax. I got this last year september for my birthday. But i don't use it much. It still has a 2007 year in it..
but i carry it everywhere in my bag. So it gets plenty of wear.

Nice stuff guys. The agenda is hot.

Had that belt for 5 years I think. Used to wear it everyday. Still going strong. Random brand, made in Canada.

I tanned it for 2 weeks in november last year. It was really dark and rainy in those weeks. According to other RM owners 3-4 days in bright sunlight should be enough.

I wish JP would make V1s again :-(:-(:-(:-(:-(

After JP sold the last V1 I asked if they could produce some more wallets without the Nudie stitching, and they said they would think about it.

Maybe we should start a thread were Mynudies members can purchase a brand new JPV2? :-D

iwannudies

We should start a poll and pressure DTYD/JP to reproduce the original V1!

We should start a poll and pressure DTYD/JP to reproduce the original V1!

I know the guys over at JP and they will not be making more V1's with the Nudie stitching in future, it's just not going to happen.
They are busy making a Pace wallet wich has the same size and quality i believe, it's hand made in the same atelier as the V1.
I don't know if they'd be interested in producing blanc wallets, you could always ask them.

I think it is the cognac, it all depends on the lightning on the photos i think, it sometimes makes the belt look more reddish than it actually is.

no just keep it like that. If it gets really dry. Or after it gets wet. you can oil it a tiny bit.

So anyways an update on the CW02a Redmoon

What oil do you use for your Redmoon?
I'm looking for a good oil that's available in shops here in Holland that won't darken the leather too much.

You don't need to tan or oil your V2.

But try to do a search on Google for "neatsfoot oil"

You shouldn't put condoms in your wallet ;-), sitting on it repeatedly can weaken it... making things risky. Interesting fades nonetheless.

It was recommended to me that I x-post this to the Evo thread since it may stir up some more interest, so here we are...

I've been doing some leatherworking in my tremendous amount of free time lately, and mentioned about a week ago or so that I'd made a smaller wallet to fit my ALD Royals. Well, I've made some aesthetic improvements on the follow-up, and figured I'd see if there was any interest in it. My current thought is $60, but if someone wants to offer more, feel free... :)

As you can see, it features 5 card slots, including one on the outside for easy access to your most commonly used card, and a bill slot. When folded, as it would be in your pocket, it measures 4"x3.25"x 5/8" thick.

pick up the art of handsewing leather by al stohlman. theres a lot of trial and error though. leather isnt very expensive, just grab a few feet of it, and some basic tools like an awl or punch, needle, waxed thread, exacto knife, etc and just give it a shot

I would wish so but unfortunately not, i think it's the same weather as in Belgium over here... i just have a lot of patience, it took me 10 days to tan it.

Tiro
17th March 2008, 22:38
damn, ten days?
after six days, I didn't see any more color change on my Kamida cardcase, so I stopped :-P (all in all I think in those six days I tanned it, it got sunlight for about two days and a half, on and off)

M!ch
17th March 2008, 22:53
I didn't see much of a change in the beginning, i was kinda surprised too how dark it became when i started treating it with the conditioner.
The conditioner is blanc btw, so it didn't add any extra colour to it.
I have this Velux window in my computer room were i would just lay it down on the curtain for the whole day to let it catch the maximum amount of sun possible.

Tiro
17th March 2008, 22:59
actually, when I treated my cardcase, it seemed to become slightly lighter... maybe it was just some dirt that came of tho...

I put it on the dashboard of my car, since the only window in my appartment is facing the north side... :(

I'm still in doubt if I should tan my RM belt or not, it's kinda weird to drive around with a belt on your dashboard tho...

dietmtndew
17th March 2008, 23:17
it would tan better/faster with direct sunlight..no?

Tiro
17th March 2008, 23:23
I don't see why it would tan better or faster with 'direct' sunlight as you say as opposed to behind a window...

furthermore, don't forget if you leave leather outside to tan, you run the risk of getting it wet, atleast where we live, that risk is pretty big...

Legoland
17th March 2008, 23:26

Tiro
17th March 2008, 23:46
actually, you do get a tan from driving, my left arm (the one on the wheel) is always more tanned at the end of summer then my right arm (gears)...

I suppose it does reduce the power of the UV tho, might put it outside again when it's dry/sunny...

corter
18th March 2008, 00:59
ya, you gotta put it in direct sun. i leave leather next to windows all the time, sometimes for days, and it really does nothing compared to direct sunlight in the open. how about a tanning bed? haha

Nudude

No it's just a wallet ;-) These wallets are definately quality stuff. As for the mid length wallets, I prefer the Red Moon wallets over the Flat Head or Skull wallets, but that's just a matter of taste. Don't have experience with those wallets but I think the quality is pretty much similar. All I can say is that you can't go wrong with Red Moon if you go for both the quality and the looks.

I'll post some pics of my wallet, it's coming along nicely.

i didn't tan or oil the belt. left it natural.

gregory.. yeah i dont really use the key leash for its purpose...i sometimes keep it attached to my keys more like a keychain ha..just to make them bulkier so if im wearing a jacket i dont loose them.

once in a while ill actually attach it to my belt and use it properly but its inconvenient most of the time.

those cost me $1.85 each, and I offer them as a $5-10 option depending on application. i know i offered it to you as well, but that's the price installed, i would never sell a simple piece of hardware for $15. they're tricky to install, you need the right tools and could easily screw up your piece.

I have a supplier but you'll need to order at least 100 of them.

Really nice, BoF. Anyways, this is the first time i've gone into this thread and i have a few questions. So first of all, say i bought a belt that would age over time.... All i would have to do is wear it and it should age? Or do i have to like tan it and oil it and stuff for it to look good? This all so confusing to me

corter

you'd tan it, then oil it, then basically just wear it. it's really fun to watch them age

Mounting Skyscrapers, over 3000 beautiful islands, lots of natural resources, amalgamation of traditional and modern lifestyle; everything in this pristine land is simply amazing. The ten days of tour around Japan let me unearth the impeccable beauties that Mother Nature has in store for us. When talking about Japan, I must mention my shopping experience which added to my pleasure. I visited many shopping malls and on the course came across several stores that sell Japanese Clothing. I think you will be fine without oiling it. The leather will naturally darken with use. What size do you wear in nudies and what did you get for the belt? I've been meaning to get one of them and haven't jumped on it yet. Post some pics of them on ya! :)

i wear 28 finns and i got a size 28 tanner belt. i should've listened to their recommendation of sizing up to a 30 because with the tanner belt buckles i'm on the last notch, but i put one of my own belt buckles and that gives me plenty of room. so i'd do what they say and size up 2 inches from your waist size.

i'll post pictures later today
