Had these for a week now, wondering if these are a good fit or am I just wasting my time trying to wear these. I think the 5cm worth of stacking looks alright...

imo i'd sag them a little bit, but everyone is different.
the fit is great though, and yes the stacking looks good

i would sag it, but thats just me. and chucks seems to be the shoes for nudies, wearing my nike sb or any other sneaker for that matter where the tongue is out just dont look good with the fit.

Now, if you purchase new jeans (nudies esp.), and want to let everyone know, just put it in here.

Hopefully this will eliminate alot of the threads about this.

Best idea in a while!

I just got in my Dry Conny from a member off here. I gotta say I really like the fit! It's a Small, and very fitting, (tight when buttoned up) and I'm definitely gonna keep it. So I'm gonna have to flip the Medium one as soon as it arrives. I have pics I'm just in the process of collaging them!

I just picked up my first pair of nudies, and first pair of dry denim. Slim Jim Dry in 33x34.

I like slim fitting jeans, and I got these slimmer since they are gonna stretch.

Got them for only $95 at the attic in buena park, ca :)

I guess there is a downside to not having wide hips! I'd still prefer not having them though! Haha!

I didn't even bother trying any of the repros since they have no tabs or arcs

cardcastleruins
28th May 2007, 04:10
Bilmaga please explain to me why people can't start new threads on their new jeans or miscellaneous things. it seems like it will just get more crowded in these big threads and it's hard to find the post or pic that you were looking for or keeping track of peoples comments on your post. I'm sure you have a good reason for it, just dosn't make sense to me.

bilmaga
28th May 2007, 04:27
@ Ghost- You don't have the tab on the Oki's either. Not that it's a really big deal. Mine don't have the tab also. But all of my other canes do.

@Card- It's not a big deal. People start their own threads regardless. I just think starting a whole new thread for someone who bought a pair of nudies, posts a pic, and gets "looks good" comments, can easily be done under the same roof. And the misc. thread was just my hopes of eventually getting enough questions in there, where people can just look in one thread, instead of searching the whole forum.

If everyone wants to start a thread, go ahead. Doesn't matter to me. But others might get mad.

Ghost

Yeah you're right, which is still kewl cause I prefer them like this though. But if I did get any other pairs, I'd want the whole combo, arcs and tabs fo sho!

bilmaga
28th May 2007, 04:31
Yeah, all you are missing is a little red tab. Which is really no big deal. The denim is still the same, which is what really matters :D

recently i bought two pairs of cheap mondays...albeit the quality kind of sucks and eventually it goes to shit...i just couldnt pass them up! they were so cheap ($50 bucks total)!!!

but i got a pair of the black tight jeans and then a pair of unwashed denim ones...they were raw i believe. i tried searching the forum for info on the raw CH, but no luck.

anyone have experience in those particular raw ones?

Wow that's a pretty sweet find! I was at BE like 3 weeks ago, and didn't find anything like that. They did have a used pair of Nudie Black Black Slim Jims for $70, but they were pretty used. You could tell by the leather patch.

5th June 2007, 23:40
I bought my second pair of Nudies, and my very first selvage denim. The RRDS.

I really like the slim jims, but I wanted a pair of jeans that were thicker, since I plan to wear them a lot and I want a pair thats really durable.

I may still keep the slim jims above, I may sell them. I'll need a couple weeks to decide.

Here are the RRDS. Let me know what you guys think of the fit! I sized down on these because I like them fitted. Not too baggy.

Please give me your opinions on these. These are 29x34 the waist and thighs feel as if they have room. Should I size down to accommodate stretching? If I size down do you think I should buy a 32 inseam or stay with 34? or do you think that these don't fit my shape too well and should buy Slim Jim dry black coated instead?

I'm not sure how these will stretch compared to the DBC.

It's wierd, the cotton % is different on all the coated finns.

TFDBC- 98%
TFUIC- 99%
TFDIC- 100%

Very strange.

a good day for me. I lost my cell phone while partying on the beach last night. So i went to buy a new one (sony ericsson z310) a store called kamikaze in the kalverstreet in amsterdam had a closing sale. And i knew they had the good Edwins some levi's..

i found a 501XX W34 L36 (that fits like a w31 L32). i don't know why these run this small but they do. they are a bit tight fo now. They are pre washed selvage jeans. I had to buy them i just had to a big E for that price . although they are pre washed they are really dark.
the price on the tag said it costs 399,95 i think thats in the curency we had before the euro. Thats about 200 euro. i got them for 49,95 euro.

Hey all,
Took a little bit of a hiatus, spent some time in my home-town (Calgary) and have been otherwise busy with work. However, I did recently pick up some Gap Williamsburg selvedge jeans. I was on the lookout for some cheap denims, and happened upon these. They are made of a rinsed Japanese denim, 100% cotton, not too too heavy...but I am interested in seeing how these jeans wear. They're probably one of the looser jeans in my collection (they are considered a skinny fit, but IMO they fit like a loose pair of dior 21cms or something along those lines) I'll post some fit pictures later on today.

Good to be back guys!

The smallest size they had was a 28/30...I'm usually a 26, so these fit a little loose, but I don't mind the extra room/looser fit.

Pfff..i keep getting amazed by the sizes everybody wears around here. Normally a size 26? Damn..that's just crazy! My gf doesn't even wear a 26..and she is deffenitly not fat ;)! Maybe it's because i sag my jeans (quite a lot perhaps)..but my normal size is about 32 and that surely is my minimum size, and i'm not fat either! Well this thread has certainly gone in an interesting direction. I would post new jeans to break up the drug and dietary-induced monotony, but alas, those damned cheap monday's were too small for me.

Still awaiting a 32 from urbanoutfitters, lethargic buggers. Odd, I have never had to size up before, usually being a 30 in most labels. Would have been my first skinny leg too. :( Not my usual preference, not at all, but I have been feeling experimental as of late.

i don't think i mentioned this here but i bought a pair of APC New Cures for my trip to London a couple on 27 June and about two and a half weeks in and they're starting to get softer, been rained on a few times. i had wanted a new pair to just begin wearing heavily at the beginning and just for kicks really and APCs are not as expensive as others here in the states.

Yeah, I like how they are 100% cotton as well. It is the only coated one like that.

The DBC - 98%
The UIC- 99%
The DIC- 100%

Kinda strange why they would do that?

thebigcomedown

yea I was trying to find just a regular dry finn for a while that I believe was 100% cotton, but I could never find them being sold anywhere anymore. I think they are still on the nudie site so I don't know why no shops have any. The DIC seem to be a bit heavier than my DBC are, maybe its just that small % of lycra that make them seem that way. I am wondering why they didn't make more of the DIC: oh well happy to have a pair.

My bootcut OLA Dry 31x32 have arrived.

Very very light and feel a tiny bit looser then the SSDS.
They have the feeling like they will stretch quite abit though. Aswell as rip real easy...

bilmaga
2nd August 2007, 15:31
Yes, the ola denim is soft and will stretch alot. Since you are comparing to a SSDS, they will feel very different indeed.

They take a while to break in, so good luck.

benjy
4th August 2007, 19:30
They are lightweight and good to wear around the home. I wore them out tonight and they seem more compfy then SS (SS more tighter but i like it like that). I like the color of the dry aswell.
Surprised one of my friends asked me if i was wearing nudies....

SS and BO = great combo.

31/32 was a great choice aswell. I dont like folding and 32 is like a few mm from touching the ground when i wear shoes. So no tearing, getting wet etc etc.

So I just picked up a pair of Grim Tim Dry Black Selvedge's the other day. It's tagged with a lenth of 34, but aren't as long as the Dry Dirt Organics. The jeans itself is beautiful, especially with the non-contrast stitching.

Anyways, I was reading the booklet that came with it, and in one of the pages it says "Wearing your Nudie Jeans for at least six months before you wash them is only valid for dry indigo coloured denim, not black denim." Anyone know if this is true? I've seen some dry blacks fade really nice, but I was wondering if the dry black selvedges fade the same way.

iwannudies
7th August 2007, 07:18
Where'd you get them? Pics of your GT DBS? I'd say it's not valid for Dry Blacks because they're harder to break in and you need to wear them alot more longer than 6 months ;)

Hi! I got my first nudies, 29X34 SJDB. At first I was 100% happy w/ the great fit. This is the only pic I have from day 1.. sorry its kind of hard to see.

My waist where I wear my jeans is about 30 inches, so I sized down one. thin finns in this size fit TIGHT, but not so much that i cant get them on before the stretch to give you an idea. (in other words, thin finns in this size are the PERFECT fit nudies taking in account future stretch).

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k273/mattjason/dayone.jpg
I wore it for about 8 hours that day after I took the pic, then about 12 today. Unfortunately, due to stretching they lost the shape that I really liked and its starting to bother me.

(after 20 hours)
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k273/mattjason/day3II.jpg
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k273/mattjason/day3.jpg

In this lighting they look decent actually, but their fit is becoming way too regular and not enough skinny. if I pull on it hard, I can get TWO extra inches in the waist. not enough to require a belt, but pretty bad considering i sized DOWN one. The thighs and knees (my main stretching concern) have about an inch extra.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k273/mattjason/ugly1.jpg

So my question is:: will they stretch anymore if i don't do anything too hard? (no biking, mountain climbing etc. etc.)
secondly, if I wear them for about 85 hours a week with lots of walking, is that enough to break them? (since dry black is so hard)
lastly, would a hot soak shrink them back to their original size?

at any rate- i learned my lesson. good thing these were on sale for 75 bucks, next time im getting indigo thin finns.

thank you!

7th August 2007, 09:20
I think they look fine, just awkward worn so high. You could hot soak them but they will stretch back out in a short while.

G'day all, i posted a while ago regarding fit when a salesgirl at a nudie store accidentally gave me a 33/32 instead of 32/32. I ended up going back and getting the 32, still a bit wary of the tightness. A week later and i couldn't be happier with the fit, they are comfortable and look great.

I Couldn't get any really good photos because i'm not that good with a camera and i was by myself, but these give a general look of the fit.

Don't usually cuff them but it had been raining and i didn't want them slipping under my heel on wet pavement, the cuff stopped that for the time being ;-)

Hey, I've just recently gotten into nudie jeans.
Here's my collection:
Black Slim Jim 30/34
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p68/maxkrause/bapetalk/slimjim.jpg
Dry Bootcut Ola 29/32
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p68/maxkrause/bapetalk/olafront.jpg
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p68/maxkrause/bapetalk/olaback.jpg
Regular Ralph DS 29/32 I bought em online and i guess the sizing is very different cause they're wayyy baggier than the olas or jims so I'm probably gonna get em tailored. I've been working on them for about a month or so, so not much has happened.

Also, do you have any jeans that have some wear?

hooraymax

yeah i got the ralphs off thebay so when i got em, i was pretty shocked. the only jeans that i have are some gap bootcuts.
I'm thinking about getting some NBHDs, but i'll have to save up for that.

i kinda sized up two on the waist. a 30 i could, with some struggle pull them off with buttons done up and a 29 i could not get past the calves to see how they fit on the waist. just wondering if people think they are too tight or loose or something because some of my friends are still saying i look gay in them. can't wait to get another pair of dry denim.

p.s didn't do an up close pic because i want to know people's opinion as they see from a far like they do in public and take my whole body into account too.

I just got my pair (ES dry organic) in the mail last week and I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!! Best fitting pair of jeans I have ever bought, they were perfect. I'd like to think of them as Slim Jims + Ralfs. I've had the Svens, Olas, & slim jims but those don't compare to these!!! If you like jeans that aren't loose but aren't tight get these!!! I love the fit and can't wait to break them in. I'll update this thread with pics in a couple months.

I'd like to think of them as Slim Jims + Ralfs.

huh? Slim Jims are a straight tube leg and Ralphs are boot cut. Even Stevens have a lower yolk then both and have a tapered leg.
Try the existing new jeans thread next time buddy...

Hey man, you've got a great fit on those jims....and as far as your friends comments...take them with a grain of salt.

You had to size up two? Do you play soccer (football...not american..haha) or anything like that?
i use to play soccer and futsal a lot. i also use to play aussie rules football for a club too and a lil bit of tennis. last year i did kickboxing for half a year (after the mid year break my conditioning was so bad i gave up lol). i'm kinda short though like just a lil bit off 5'7 (maybe a lil over 5'7 with my hair up haha) and i think that might have something to do with it but yea, size 30 was super snug on the legs and quite nice on the waist, not too snug or anything. 29, i couldn't get them up past my calves and the size i have up there (31), i can stick both of my arms down the waist lol and probably a lot of other things too hahah but the legs feel alright unless i'm walking a lot then it feels like the waist isn't touching me at all and that the jeans are hanging off my thighs but the waist still stays up hmmmm kinda hard to explain.

Jakob
9th September 2007, 19:34
Oh sorry, overlooked this thread. I've purchased a High Kai Rinsed in 29x34. It's tighter than my TFDB in the waist, eventhough it's the same size. I bought it a little longer too, which I like. :) And i felt like som supergay when i picked them up from the womens part of the store ;D

Pics will be up as soon as possible.

bilmaga
9th September 2007, 19:36
I understand what you mean.

Your thighs hold the jeans up, and not your waist.

You should get some ALD prescotts.

poostain
9th September 2007, 19:47
yea, like the waist is still around my waist but it just isn't touching it very much. hmmmm i think i will have no choice but to get the waist put in eventually since i'm not a fan of belts.

mmmmm ALD prescotts, i was really considering them before and had bookmarked the size 28 someone was selling in the market place but someone already bought them :(. right now i'm planning to get a pair of the nandoxnando someone has on the market place at superfuture. i also really want a pair of the SDA 103 before summer starts so a pair of prescotts is very much out of my budget for the next few months :'( i also just bought a pair of tsubis off someone from superfuture. currently waiting for them in the mail but i won't be posting pics of them in here lol they will be for when it's excessively hot or rainy days.

Hey guys, new here, bought my first raw denim (yesterday, but wore for first time this morning), also my first pair of jeans that costed more than $40 :-D, must say, you really do get what you pay for when it comes to denim.

Here are some pictures, I have not soaked them yet. Size is 33/34, I'm going to be losing a bit more weight also.

The fit looks nice. I kinda have the same situation as you. Never bought any jeans that costed more than to euros or so and now I have a 100 dollar pair :)
Are they still stiff? Mine really were stiff like hell in the beginning but that's completely gone after about 5 weeks of almost everyday wear :)

yeah i was gonna mention that, too, but i didn't want to harsh on your groovy trip. the problem is: (1) they are already big, (2) they will stretch, (3) you plan to lose weight. thems gonna be some baggy slim jims, pardner!

Kev07

Thanks for replies. They felt REALLY tight when I tried it on at the store.

Some questions:

Are they really going to stretch that much?!

They should shrink back after soaking/washing right?

I plan to soak them probably thanksgiving or christmas, thoughts?

it's ok if you're going for a looser fit, i went with a 33x32 when i'm a 32 in most nudies, but it worked out fine. though, i did intend on going for a little saggier fit

Volteran
18th September 2007, 13:08
I think itīs actually a good fit, especially for a start with dry denim. You will learn a lot about this stuff by wearing it, and you can still go for a tight fit with a new jeans in the future. Sizing a tight jeans is quite difficult imo, so some experience with dry denim comes handy

why so much dry denim at one time?
I've had my thin Finns for about 6 months now.
I want to wash them and then get a new pair of dry denim to start on.

Im leaning towards APC new cures right now.

Well, NYC isn't all that far away, so if you have a long weekend or something like that Blue in Green is awesome. Also, if you do your homework before going, you should be able to try on enough to know just about all of the measurements you want, making it easier to order things.

Blue in Green is awesome. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, but like BlueOctoberFan has said, you still need to know what you want, and how to convey it to the staff. Then it makes everything a lot easier.

Oh, and their denim selection is absurd in its quality.

Very true. The last time that I went there, I actually just made a list of all of the brands and models that I wanted to try, and while I was trying on a couple of pairs, the woman there pulled about another 6 pairs for me to try as well.

I'd definitely recommend going there with a written down list of what you're interested in. Even if they don't have your size in stock for all of them, they can easily recommend other pairs to try out that are similar. And yes, they're all top-notch stuff.

I think you'd find both the dior and new cure to be a bit to low since you like Thinn Finn. Have you tried on the Hoboken? maybe they're something for you, or maybe Edwin Murray if you want stretch denim. If you want to stick with Nudie i say go with Steven, max amount of satisfying fade in a very short space of time, and Tim is a great fit, pretty similar to Finn but as tapered
