I am furnishing a new apartment and I want a turntable setup as the main rig for listening to music. I don't have much experience with turntables, as I listen to all my records on my grandmother's old Technics SL series from the 70's currently.

I don't want to spend alot of money and I'm pretty much willing to scour ebay for a while in order to get something that sounds great. Any suggestions?

Technics turtables are pretty good even the low end ones. Is there something wrong with the one you have? Mabey it needs a new cartrige.

I've had a pair of SL 1200MK3D's for almost 10 years and have abused the hell out of them and they're still like new.

I would recomend getting a used 1200MKII or 1200MK3D. It will last you for the rest of your life.
