I would probably agree wiith Offyatree, those look like fake or just very poor Nudies. There aren't any fades or creases at all and the colour of the indigo is... gross.

I'd go with a 28 if you want a nice straight legged fit, you could bust a 27 if you want them tighter. Mine didn't really stretch out much, the 27 waist was never tight on me tho, I usually rock a 26-27 so they were true to size, just didn't want a skin tight look.thanks for the compliment!

the owner said that he skated in them almost everyday for 16 months and sagged them real low so the yoke got screwed up. I've had mine for more or less the same amount of time but mine is nowhere like those !

I don't like the end result of the jeans, waaaay too worn out but these pair is, in my opinion, the epitome of "live in your jeans" philosophy.

Those look great Aztec!

I just had to wash mine, 5½ months in. This is my first jeans project ever, and my first selvage jeans. I was picking wild oat in the fields for two days (which means walking in fields of barley=dirt and water to your knees) which meant that I had a perfect reason for washing them. I think the last days of wear really helped developing the honeycombes in the ankle area.

I had to use my mobile for the photos, but I think they turned out alright this time (before pics some pages back in the thread).

^^

U should give photomatix a try!

denimjunkie
23rd July 2009, 17:40
Thats it. Opeth gave the answer. Photomatix is the name of the program.
What you do is you bracket 3 or more takes of the same motif and then you fusion them in that program.
It will give you more detail in both highlights and darks trying to imporve the low dynamic light range that
the sensors of digital cameras have.

That makes for the HDR - High dynamic range photograph.

OR you could do it the cheap way if you have the RAW file and just change the exposure... or even cheaper just change it in photoshop with the jpeg. there are many ways to do it. in the one i have done, i just took the three brackets and did it in PS because it looked better than the one in photomatix i did... however i like all the different options in photomatix (ignoring PS for the moment). TANGENT TIME.

Curious as to if I could get some opinions on my AJDHs. They are 2 days short of 6 months. I'm debating on going for a year on them, but I don't know if it will do much good, and actually, I'm wondering if it will do more harm than good. There are some things I am a little worried about.
Here they are, no wash, no soak, just wear:
http://i30.tinypic.com/2mgsemo.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/rt22o1.jpg

And this is what I'm worried about:
First, under the back pockets, I have these weird lines of fade and wear.
http://i25.tinypic.com/2h81wzn.jpg

http://i32.tinypic.com/34isdvq.jpg

Second, I have a few of these little rips on my pants. most of them are in lines, and three of them are right next to the seam. near the bottom of the leg. I don't know if I just just ignore it or do something about it.

Looking good Bounce. Go for 12 Months.

Those look really good, Bounce. Definitely some nice fading for the dry heavy denim. As for repairing, that's always up to you. I wouldn't be concerned about the line under the ass, as that's not likely to be something that'll change after a wash. Also, if the little tears are in the stacks, I don't see where they're something that you'd really have to worry about either. However, if you wanted to do something about them, you could always sew in a patch without washing the jeans.

Ley_Raw
26th July 2009, 20:24
If you reinforce that crotch area when you buy them it will stay good as new for a year plus. Use fabric glue to take down the seams and if you want small patches in the groin area(it's unnoticable.) Ill have to post a pic of mine.

Cool cool, I was just worried that the tears near the seams would come apart in the wash, and in turn unravel the the whole leg. As for the lines on the ass, they look kind of like... reverse whiskers, I don't know. I just hope they don't tear any more than they already have.

Many of the worn in jeans here at mynudies show similar lines under the backpockets. Thats only because its creases a little where the ass ends. Have a look at my SJDJ 2 pages back and see it too.

Go for another 6 months if you can bounce, you'll be glad you did. My buddy had a pair of Dry Heavy and they were quite stubborn to fade, but he wore then HARD for a like 13 months and they became awesome.

Once more really nice stuff to see after my holiday return:

offyatree: Labs: Nice strong front whiskers, just great
Durden: Johnbullsc008: Unbelievable: A jeans which deserves the grail status
Frömlig: Hope Modell Cool: Very interesting jeans, never saw something similar so far
Bounce: Your Nudies start fading really nice now. I'm sure they'll have a long way ahead in your life.

No need to worry about repairs. Repair it when if busts open or when you need to.

Wash it if you want, I would say hold out.

Thanks for all the opinions. I think I'll commit to another three months (bringing it to nine total) and then see if I want to go the full year.
My logic at that point will be "Well, I've already come this far." :-)

Pics don't really do justice, contrast irl much greater. The jeans causes a dilemma. I should start wearing a new pair of dry jeans, but it takes so long before the start looking any good. On the other hand my RR's start to wear pretty quickly so if i wear them a lot (which i do because they are the most comfortable jeans ever now) they will not last very long. Heads up guys

SELFEDGE SF is giving away a pair of Slim jims to be worn for 6 months for a Nudie contest

The 2009 Nudie Jeans Contest.

This is a contest put together by Nudie Jeans themselves.
They've picked a handful of Nudie retailers across the world and each retailer must have ONE person wear a pair of Slim JIm Dry Japan jeans for exactly six months starting August 1st, you'll get the jeans free of charge to wear.
After six months Nudie will pick a winner and give them a free trip to Italy paid for by Nudie.

Self Edge is one of the retailers which was picked (only about 8 total in the US) so we're looking for somebody to make us proud and win a trip to Italy. You must be within the Bay Area. If you don't have a Superfuture account please email us at denim @ selfedge.com

We need somebody within the next week, who's down and why?

I just found these, after I thought I donated em to Salvation Army...they're circa 2005...wore em for a year and a half..
(Sadly I do not have any of the older pictures as that computer is long gone. Took these pics today)
Machine washed by my mom at 4 months (I was pissed as hell)
Then I just washed em whenever and did not give a flying puck about em after that machine wash.
I don't wear em anymore.
Also they remind me of UPS and their assholery. Paid 20$ USD to ship these and then paid 45$USD "Brokerage" fee. Because I live in Canada. I'd love to buy another pair of APC jeans but *Shrug* **** UPS.

Haha wow I am quite flattered! They were my first raw jeans and I honestly thought they were ruined because of the first wash. Everyone on superfuture said so too haha. They began to really morph after I started to really abuse/trash em, ironically enough (before that, I babied em(
I think I'll keep em as a keepsake sorta thing though, my first years of college lived in those haha. Maybe I'll bust em out on weekends.

At least once a month in a front load washer on cold/very gentle and I used woolite noir, the apc jeans came with a washing recipe guide. I followed that.
Sometimes I would take showers in em because I lived on res, and I did not want to pay 3$ just to wash one pair of jeans haha.
I suppose mine turned out less "bluey" because I used woolite noir and got pretty physical/dirty with my jeans. Playing a lot of ultimate frisbee and studying in bizzare areas with my books on my lap

Narrow Boots Organic Dry, cold soaked once.

It's been about 6.5 months since I've had these, however, probably only 5 months of actual wear - give or take. I kind of want to wait a bit longer, but I may have to wash pretty soon because the back pockets (especially the right) is getting pretty worn out. As well as I have a rip on the side/back of my knee...so I need to repair that soon (unless I really want Nudie shorts...lol).

yeah the fly is broken in that photo... quite infuriating. got it fixed but the new one broke in about a day. giving them a rest for abit and wearing some ksubis.

um cheap mondays... i assume those ones with the mud and rips from ages back? haha... soon after that experiment i "accidently" barbequed them, so they are 'burnt' and probably in land fill somewhere.
