I e-mailed nudie jeans to see when the eta of the ola muchacho was and here is what they replied.
This is the answer:

>>
>/Oscar

> Regards, Nudie Jeans
I hope they change their minds because I really wanted a pair :x

i got an email from fos5 today that they were getting it within a month. hmmm

The "within a month" was an estimate. Apparantly we will no longer get it. If that email posted in the first post is from Oscar then that is the truth. We were never told that they weren't manufactured but that is the greatness of this forum.....you hear it here first!! We have contacted Nudie to see what they tell us but unfortunately it sounds like there will be no Dry Muchacho. Stay tuned! I will let you know when we get the official message.

that e-mail I got was legit. I went to the little contact icon at the bottom of their website and used that link.
I wouldn't make this up as I was wanting the ola muchacho sooooooo bad.

That's why I ordered a tight RRDS. I got tired of waiting for the Muchacho.
But I am bummed.

Yes, now we got it confirmed as well. There will be no Bootcut Ola Dry Muchacho. Unfortunately, our distributor forgot to tell us the sad news so we thought all this time that we were still getting them. Sorry about that! We really wanted to carry these in our shop. :-(

according to an employee at Bendorff A'dam they will, and it will be the current RRDS but without the bootcut. yay.

Does this mean the RRDS with the bootcut as we know it now will be discontinued? :?

I doubt it. I've seen it being made for next season at least. The RRDS is the flagship so they'll probably make it for some more time.

I already thought that, it wouldn't be logical for Nudie to give up on their most popular jeans! :D

This is awful. It weakens my loyalty towards Nudie.
Will fos5 at least carry the slim jim dry broken?

This is awful. It weakens my loyalty towards Nudie.
WHY? If the reason was faulty denim and low demand then any business would stop production. A good company protects their customers from faulty products and if you run a business you won't make a product that has low demand...that wouldn't make sense. Sure, there was a demand from the loyal Nudie fans but apparantly the retail stores did not anticipate that.

Guess this means I'll be trying a pair of Crates instead. Nudie really needs to add some variety to their bootcut options in my opinion. The BE and FG are discontinued, the BO only comes in a light weight dry denim, and I'm not fond of the RR's high rise. :(

I was told that the dry broken is mostly sold in Denmark and Australia.
It would be cool if fos5 could order those because it is the same denim as the muchacho and I personally like the jim better

That sounds a bit like it could be the Masa!
I've never seen someone wearing the SJ dry broken or seen it anywhere for sale btw.
If the denim is the problem with the BO muchacho why are they making the SJ in the same denim :?:
And if the denim is not the problem, what is :?: :!:

Money and "what is in?" is the problem. Even if Nudie once has stated that they will never follow the market trends, they broke their principles and sold their soul due for the money and amout of sellings (I mean they do what the trend is right now, thin jeans without bootcut). I think this is one of the most sad (together with the Flare Glenn remove) news that came from Nudie. It's only a brand (we had this topic so many times, so pleas don't let it discuss again) so of course they want to sell as much as they can but for real now, Nudie more and more breaks their principles and does things they said, they won't do. It's ok with it, they can do whatever they want and of course is money important but than they shall not do as if they were the saints of the buisness and would have a rock'n roll attitude. That was some time ago and won't come again I guess. If they will ever release a writting in which you can read that they are true to themselve, I will laugh.
PS: not that I am not complaining what Nudie does but what they say. It's ok to do things as onself want but telling things that are just not true because of the image, is a bad habit.

I agree Epilogue, the popular fashion trend is definately straight or tapered jeans with a slim fit. Perhaps in 5-8 years the trend will change and nudie will follow suit.

Epilogue: Cheer Up! You always seem unhappy and complain about things. Life is fun! Smile, be happy and take life as it comes.
Btw, they are still making RR and BO so I don't think this Muchacho-thing has anything to do with them being bootcut......well actually, maybe the denim problem was something to do with bootcut.....maybe it was harder to use the denim for bootcut instead of the usual slim they make with the denim.

Nudie would say, they are not following, they are leading...

Nudie would also say, you should never buy other clothes apart from theirs but would it be good? Nooooo.
Epilogue: Cheer Up! You always seem unhappy and complain about things. Life is fun! Smile, be happy and take life as it comes.
I only complain, when there is something to complain. Quite normal and a sign for health thinking. At least I am on of these people who wouldn't be brainwashed by a next dictator.
Btw, they are still making RR and BO so I don't think this Muchacho-thing has anything to do with them being bootcut.....
But they will produce less and less of them when it comes to variety because bootcut jeans will become unpopular. At the end there will only be a dry one and 2 or 3 prewashed. Remember my words. Same happened to Glenn.
Nevertheless it is very dissapointing. This was the jeans I was most looking forward for. Nudie fans are always pleasured only when Nudie releases a new selvage one, so they don't have to worry but in my opinion it gets boring.

We really wanted to sell this Muchacho. As people have said earlier, the bootcut popularity is coming to an end. However, this Muchacho might have been a good ending to it all. :D
Anyway, I think you will like the Even Steven.....the name might not be as exciting but I believe in this new Nudie cut. I think it will be a popular cut among bootcut lovers who is looking for something different and also for slim jeans lovers who wants something less tight. As the name says, it's "even" inbetween.
:D

i know we can't blame nudie,
but for someone with a preference towards less tight fitting dry denim, theres only like 4 or 5 options (rrds, rrdg, bod, ssds) i loved the dye colour and the weight of the muchacho and it just sucks to have waited so long for nothing.
but what can we do but look forward
bilmaga
2nd November 2006, 03:58
I agree, we can't blame nudie.
Business is all supply and demand. If very few stores wanted to stock the muchacho, why would they produce such a limited quantity. I wanted the muchachos sooooo bad and when I found out from nudie that they weren't making them, It was a kick in the nuts to me.
Epilogue
2nd November 2006, 06:58
They also did the LE SS in limited quantities. They also make stupid socks, nobody buys, because they see it as a gimmick and kind of philosophy. Your argumentation lacks und you forget about a lot of things. Nudies argumentation about the "no demand" story doesn't make sense. The problems with the fabric does, but how can they preview a jeans before they've tested it? I thought that would be normal in buisness too?

3rd November 2006, 02:13
I can't see a fabric problem either. To me it looks like the same denim as the SJ dry broken and they are selling them. And as far as making them a limited edition, they would have to do something special like the svenskas or the masa. A broken twill doesn't justify a limited edition in my opinion.
