I feel like Nudie People in general are cooler than non nudie people... because of that, I propose the next level of coolness to be explored... What is everyone listening to these days??? With a group of cats from all over the world, I think this would be a great opportunity to exchange some music... I know I personally live for music, and I dont think Im alone.. so without further jibber jabber, whats good Nudie slingin' music fans? 8)

I feel like underoath as a whole is rather hit or miss musically. Then again, I feel like that entire scene lost a step a year or two ago... There still are some tight bands in it though... as a NJ native I have my share of love for thursday, also thrice, sound of animals fighting, and muse. I have to say though, the indie scene is much more pleasing these days...

I had really felt underoath had lost it with They're Only Chasing Safety, but I think they redeemed themselves a little now.

I do agree with you, indie is making more and more a name for itself with A LOT of bands. Good bands too. I don't know who your into but personally I also like anything by Jonah Mantranga, Straylight Run, Snow Patrol, and I Can Make a Mess.

Opeth
21st August 2006, 23:53
Hmm it really depends on the day and mood but here is a short list

Opeth, Rapture, Moby, A state of trance, Muse, Mew, Slayer, Lamb of god and so on.....

By the way..Slayer, lamb of god, Children of bodom and In flames are playing in helsinki at 12.11 and I bought tickets already. It's gonna be sweeeeet

Right Now:

Digitalism - Jupiter Room (Martian Assault Edit)

rest of the time I listen to other electronic/house stuff but not any gay disco house with strings and stuff, I like electronic and acid influenced tracks with a kick-ass bassline. it is also cool when they sound like an alarm siren (e.g. "riot in belgium - the acid never lies" "KIM - System breakdown" "dave spoon - acid box), to urban music (not as much as I used to though, I like mos def, the roots, jay-z, talib kweli and some german artists), to some "the" bands (even though not all of them carry a "the" in the name, but i think you get what kind of music I mean) and to my two favorite bands: Oasis ans Radiohead

other good noise bands (if you'd classify them as that) are Japanther and Guitar Wolf.

and i just finally got the Nobody & Mystic Chords collaborative album, and it's really good (as well as the new Tyde album...everything related to Beachwood Sparks is gold).

and listen to at least one Leadbelly song every day, he made some gorgeous, gorgeous music in his time.

and my final recommendation is Hell On Wheels recent album "The Odd Church" it's really really good. my buddy Matthias sent it to me in May and i listen to it all the time.

i definately listen to more than one leadbelly song a day. but i'm more of a lightnin' hopkins/son house kinda blues guy. more into the delta scene. fun fact about leadbelly too: he recorded a number of records in the town i live in. not sure if the house where he did still exists, but its one of the only known facts about wilton, ct. the other one is that christopher walken lives here haha.

I got it on Ebay actually...so I'm not sure if the site is still selling it. It's great though...has every show from their northeast tour.

Also I love Guitar Wolf...don't know if i'd classify them as noise quite...but yeah yeah not that important. they call themselves jet rock n roll.

OH...Interesting note...Guitar Wolf sells DRY DENIM by Dry Bones with their logo on it. You know it's a badass band when they have logoed dry denim. And Dry Bones is a respectable japanese brand.

i unfortunately have yet to see lightning bolt live, but where'd you get the tour dvd from? the load records site?

other good noise bands (if you'd classify them as that) are Japanther and Guitar Wolf.

and i just finally got the Nobody & Mystic Chords collaborative album, and it's really good (as well as the new Tyde album...everything related to Beachwood Sparks is gold).

and listen to at least one Leadbelly song every day, he made some gorgeous, gorgeous music in his time.

and my final recommendation is Hell On Wheels recent album "The Odd Church" it's really really good. my buddy Matthias sent it to me in May and i listen to it all the time.

ahh i love music so much i could go on forever. but i'll stop now.

And if Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisted isn't the most bad@$$ cd ever made then I clearly don't know what I'm talking about. Exile on Main Street kicks a tremendous amount of @$$ and so does the whole premise behind it (the Rolling Stones were evading US tax laws so they moved to the French Riveria).
But honeslty though, if you can't agree with me that Pearl Jam is one of the better bands of all time and Eddie Vedder is nothing less than a lyrical genius, who swoops in like a f*ckin bald eagle over Stone Gossards guitar riffs, then I will fight you.

Jody Raffoul - hes from the Windsor area, i seen him in concert like two weeks ago hes unbelievable. He opened for Bon Jovi not too long ago, he always rocks out at local bars when everyone's piss drunk and people go crazy. He has CDs out that are marketed worldwide, he's very U2/John Melloncampish, download some of his shit you wont be dissapointed

If you like metalcore you should really check out a local band here from Ontario, Canada which is going big. I just got a leak of their new cd coming out in April and it sounds amazing!

Thansk for the tip and thanks for asking, dude! They have faded in the crotch, and there have come som marks from the cuffs. But the honeycombs are brilliant, and it seem like they don?t even stretch out! :) Wich is a good thing since i couldn't go lower than a 29.
But hey, you gotta rock them for a long time dude, its a really soft denim.

You need to check out As We Fight from denmark on myspace too, breat metalcore in the classic vein! 8)

Yeah my honeycombs are forming very nicely and I love how the denim keeps its tightness, while my Levis have loosened up after just a few wears.

As We Fight sounds awesome, the singer is just so classically metalcore and the riffs are sick.

I like the way they have kind of a rock approach, and Laurit's(the skinny singer, there are two) vocals wich seem very NY Hardcore.

Trentem?ller performing at the danish P3 Guld awards. Awesome! 8)

Notice that it's Henrik Vibskov (danish designer) playing drums! He's actually good at it. :D

Going to work, and going home form work. The Knife - Silent Shout. brilliant album. everything they do is brilliant.

Coming home, Placebo...cus I'm oh so emo ; ) no but they rock. great band.

been a lot of rammstein and wolfmother latley. I liked that trentem?ller stuff, although he never seem to step it up as much as I like it to. I love when dj's go over the top to make intense dance music and it's just to much. He's going there at the end of that video magical. Loved his essentialmix back in november or whenever.
