"Dry Italian 13,25 oz selvage denim with a little red-cast. It's compact and regular with a smooth, flat surface. On this style you find the selvage edge coin pocket and silver trims. Nudie orange threads all over except for the back pocket embo that is faded indigo. 100% cotton. Made in Italy." -NudieJeans.com

Looks like no more dropped yoke either...

sounds like the old red selvage. And the yoke shoul,d be as on every TF, after all it's the same cut.

i've noticed that nudie product photos on their webshop don't allways match with given styles.

right, could be a GT cut as well. I doubt they'd sell a TF with high yoke.

Hey wazzup:) Today i bought a new pair of finns flat selvage! Thought it would be a good idea to share them here! From my previous dry stretch i sized down from 32/29 to 32/28 although my hips are a bit sore at the moment

thanks for the comments! When comparing with my dry stretch the yoke is pretty much the same and i would say that the stock photos are a bit misleading.

Bro, these are spot on. Please give us details about your size and what size you bought, and how much these stretch! :)

I'm looking to replace my Grim Tim's which I bought at the wrong size and have stretched out wayyyy too much, don't want to make the same mistake again ;)

I bought 28/32 and if you want a suggestion i would buy as tight as possible! I have problems going in stairs with my flat selvage e.g:) Raw jeans are not supposed to be comfortable in the beginning! Yet i can't pull them down as far as i want to but i know they will stretch and fit me perfectly in a couple of weeks (months):)

Good luck!

Well i was about to ask the same question about the sizing, i usually get a 27 for my dry stretch but i'm kinda hesitating for the Selvage flat !

So should i get a 26 according to you guys ?!! Thanks

Hello everybody!:) I´m new to this forum, but i thought that i have register now when i ordered pair of finns flat selvage! I sized down 1 compared to tfds that i have.

I just have one question: is here someone who knows how fast cultizm usually answers to orders? I made my order at night between 22.12 and 23.12. Should i be concerned about my order because i haven´t get any information if my finns have been dispatched or not and do they have my size?
Or maybe it just was christmas holiday already?:) I´m already so excited about new finns that i can´t wait to be sure that i will get my order!

And merry Christmas!

When i tried them out it felt like the selvage finns were a bit bit bigger (just an impression) but im not sure whether you should go with 26 or 27. It would be nice if someone else could confirm the sizing between the flat selvage vs the dry stretch

Hey Guys, Am looking to get a pair of these selvage Finns, I have a pair of TFDS in size 31/32 and they are a slim fit and not too skinny. When I bought them first they were tight without being uncomfortable before they stretched out and from what I read on other threads is that if you want to end up with a skinny fit on the TF you need to downsize a couple of sizes. My true waist size is around 31 or 32 so what would you recommend for these selvage TF? Thanks in advance!

Kmart.

If you like your current fit, stay with the 31. But, if you think that you really want a tight fit, by all means get a 30.

Thanks for the replies...seeing as they are 100% cotton am I right to assume there won't be as much of a stretch as TFDS? to size down "at least 2-3 sizes" would be detrimental to my plans to have children in the future I reckon! Will go for the 30 I think and I'll get a skinny look still...want a look similar to that of @vith on page two of this thread! Cant wait to get these ordered and start breaking them in!

BalistaZ
9th January 2012, 03:01
If you are 32 then sizedown 2 means 29-30". Don't forget this pair is a bit bigger than TFDS and don't say 100% won't stretch that much.

You could expect at least 1" or 2" stretch on your waist. Anyway this depend on your body as well.

Good luck for your new jeans, 30" should be fine if you don't want too skinny fit.

As BalistaZ says i wouldn't be to sure about that these jeans will not stretch. I have just worn mine for a couple of weeks and already noticed that the waist has stretched a bit. In the beginning it was kinda hard just to lift my foot upon a chair to tie my shoelaces:) And mine are not that "skin tight" i reckon, just a pretty slim fit! But i suppose that's a matter of how your body looks. Good luck

Imho Finns aren´t meant to be worn this tight. BUT if these were TLJ´s I would say it´s a good fit dude... But BE AWARE of what I tell you know and BEWARE of doing splits in those pants.

Zero stretch + tight fit = high risk of huge crotch blowout

Furthermore keep in mind, that even if these pants are sanforized they will shrink up to 4 percent after a first wash.

miikaa
26th January 2012, 20:42
Good point! But I really like this fit, and i´ll stay with it:) so i obviously have to be aware of crotch blowout!

Maybe i just try to wear them hard. We´ll see after year or something what happens when wash these.

vith

I like the fit man but i would definitely consider sagging them. This will increase the risk of crotch explotions but what the heck, just use your sewing machine skills when this occurs:) wear n tear!!

Am i right in thinking these run a bit bigger than the TFDS moving towards a slimmer rather than skinny fit? The leg openings look a bit wider than the TFDS

i agree, the leg openings are definitely wider, not really my thaang but i hope they will shrink after the first wash!

Hi guys I just bought my 1st pair of Nudies Grim Tims Dry orange selvage's (1 week of wear). The 1st pair i bought was a 32x34 which i could barely button the fly and looked terrible in my eyes. I returned them and got 33x34's which surprisingly was a bigger difference than a normal case of sizing up 1. I normally wear 33inch waist in most of my other jeans like my Diesel Safado's. I went with the smaller size because i have read so many people saying size down...I guess my question is what size should i get in the thin finns? I love the low yoke look as i like to wear my jeans low. My legs are a tad on the thick side and i am worried i wont be able to pull them off. PLEASE HELP!!!

^^^ I agree with you, the dry selvage shouldnt be treated like the organic/stretch pair. This is 13.25 oz denim where organic/dry ones are 11oz.
I just get one today and I only down one size because if i do more i cant even bend my legs lol. Its a bit slim cut looking but i think it is how selvage should be worn.
btw i am wearing size 28 on TLJ and 30 on TF dry selvage :)

Hi all

Long time reader first time poster...

Got a pair of these bad boys on the weekend.. Picked up a 34/34 (normal waist) and should have sized down 1. Have stretched a bit after a few wears, sit more like a slimmer sharp bengt on me (which is what a Finn is right?)

Definately a solid jean and definately going to pillage them

Will post fit pics soon

Hello guys,

I really wanted to buy these jeans as my first pair of selvage but it seems nudie have stopped making them and replaced them with these

http://shop.nudiejeans.com/en/product/2124/org-dry-heavy-selv

What are you opinions of these jeans? I'm just concerned they're going to fade much slower now they are organic?

Thanks for your help!

Been a while since anyone posted!

I'm stoked I didn't size down, these jeans are very tough to wear with out the stretch denim in them. Would not recommend sizing down

Nice jeans but can be uncomfortable when going up stairs etc. seem to fade reasonably quickly for only 3 days a week wear.

Will try and get some pics up soon (said that last time but will get em up soon)

@soap - Looking forward to follow the process on your TFDFS ! Considering ordering a pair of my own ... just a quick question: Would you recommend ordering true to size ( i wear 28/34 in TF Dry Stretch ) ?

Soap
6th September 2012, 08:53
I Definately recommend true to size. I'm normally a 34/34 in thin Finn dry black coated/organic ecru and these fit a little more snug.. (im 34/34 in DFS) You really notice the lack of stretch in them

budtz
6th September 2012, 09:27
Thnx for quick reply !!
Do you think it would be wise to actually size up 1" since there is no stretch and to avoid that they shrink to much when washed ?!?

To be honest if I had my chance again I would probably explore this option!

budtz

I have both pairs and i'd say the same size. The thin finn dry heavy selvage organics i have fit a little bit looser than the average pair of thin finns.

I do also have a pair of dry heavy selvedge.. Did go one size down, wish i would have sized down two sizes! Since there is now stretch, they fit much more loose on the legs! Sadly they are a little to tight around the thighs.. Pretty sure they will stretch out, when they get "softer" and more used :)

I agree about sizing down, I sized down two sizes and they fit perfect. Don't worry, just do it next time!

What I meant was, if he's happy with the way his GT selvage turned out, I'd pick the same size with the Thin Finns. Both my Thin finn selvage and Grim Tim selvage are 30 waists.

Hope that helps!

Hi I'm thinking about purchasing a pair of selvage Finns, particularly the new 'Dry Selvage' which almost looks the same as the old Thin Finn Dry Black (dry black red cast denim with orange stitching and embo) my favourite Finns in terms of fit are the 98%Cotton/2%EA. Should I size up or down for the selvage ones?
