I purchased these in the beginning of October 2010 and I worn it a large number of times. I then stopped wearing them for awhile. I wore them twice on January then stopped again. In around March-April 2011, I began wearing them more often until now...

The problem I'm having is that I think my jeans are faded. I'm not sure if they are actually faded. On the top front of the jeans, the colour looks kind of like in between grey and black (hard to explain)... Basically, it looks like grey, less blackness. Yeah, i'm not sure if that part is faded. Could it be a sign of process that shine is developing?

I think I lost the shine to my jeans because I often pat/slide my hands with a small amount of water to remove any dirt and dust being left behind. Could that lose the shine if the jeans makes contact with water? I also use a small sticky tape to remove any dusts, i make sure that i do it softly

The only part I can see shine has been made is the small area below the crotch? How can I improve this? Should I just keep wearing them or should I buy a new pair and start all over? Sorry to be a hassle, I'm still in the beginner's stage when it comes to wearing Nudies

I've seen somewhere pics of a faded TFDBC: the guy rocked it hard for a long time and washed it many times.
It looked amazing, too bad I can't find the pics again :(

Back to topic, it looks black on the pic, but I'd bet the sticky tape is the bad guy.

As those are dry too, they tend to fade... Doesn´t seem like a problem to me... And of course you aren´t a new member. 8 months....

The more you use it the more it will fade. If it stinks or dirty then try soaking it in cold water once a month (of full 30 days use) or whenever the jeans become unbearable to smell, as it seems that you're very delicate with your jeans.

dont worry mate. the greyish spots disappear as quickly as they appear. over time they will be gone, you are right in saying its the shining process. based on my experience with two pairs of dbc.

Just thought I should say, the best phone pics I have ever seen come from iPhone 4s, so the camera doesn't suck :p

Dry coats dont fade nearly that easily the grey streaks are cause by abrasions on the dry coat they go away and shine up after a while but it takes A WHILE TO GO AWAY so what can u do iron it... Spray some starch on the area and iron it out DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THESE STREAKS WITH WATER OR A DAMP RAG you have been warned

IN THE INTEREST OF TOTAL Transparency :
THIS WILL NOT TAKE AWAY SHINE
THIS WILL MAKE THE DENIM FEEL NEW AGAIN
IT WILL SHRINK A LITTLE BUT IT WILL STRETCH OUT WITH ONE WEAR

After 4.5-5 years (Yep, the one's with the original tan patch, actual wear time probably pushing 2 years).... 2 cold soaks.... 1 hot wash (yesterday)....

They went from looking like actual leather... to matte black jeans with ZERO fading!!

No honeycombs, no wallet marks, nothing. Tops of pockets, seams, belt loops etc are 'worn', some places more than others. Some of the vertical stiches in the denim look like they are starting to 'crack' the same way the Grey Coated's fade, so now the coating is off they may start to fade like normal. Hell, even my crotch hasn't blown out yet and that ALWAYS happens!! These jeans are actually indestructible!

May re-purchase in a size smaller as they'd stretched out, and I did like the ridiculous shine!
